  1. I checked - don't see any installs in there and no folder for paint.net
  2. I did try the win installer cleanup. I get a ms vbscript runtime error 800A0046 when I run it after downloading from the geeks site.
  3. Windows 7, 64-bit. Is it not supporting 64-bit and I missed that?
  4. Paint.net: 3.5.8 .NET framework 3.5.1; repaired the framework, restarted. Same thing.
  5. Thank you - should have mentioned I tried that, too. the same error comes up: "The application has failed because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail."
  6. Paint.net is not working for me when I try to launch it: "The application has failed because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail." So, when I attempt to do an uninstall from the control panel to uninstall and then try a new install, this pops up: "There us a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run." I've gone through the installer posts already to make sure I have net framework, etc in place. Thanks so much, tammi
