Done! by the way, for those who are interested, and who want to try the same thing, i found out that it's also possible (and very easy) to use the eraser tool to erase parts of the toplayer.

hello, I just discovered Paint.net, and so far i like it very much. one of the reasons that i decided to try it out, is that i found out on a dutch forum (yes i'm from holland) that you can make a part of a photo collored, while the rest is in black and white. ofcourse now that i need it, i can't find that forum back, so i'm hoping you can help me out. i know you'll have to use layers,, but thats were it ends for me. can you help me? greetz Aeolus
