  1. Stay safe and keep creating! That cake does look good.πŸ˜‰
  2. Reptillian, lynxster4, Vagabondi, Eli, welshblue, Pixey, Remake - Thanks all for taking a look and for the comments and reps.😊 @Eli - The figure on the left is a stylized 'plague doctor'. During the plagues of the middle ages people would protect themselves by wearing a beak shaped mask filled with 'medicinal' herbs. Probably as just good as the face masks I see being worn by the public. Onions!... now there's a new fetish!😁 @Pixey - seems it's just me then... I've probably seen too many Hans Bellmer drawings.
  3. Two new images. Partly to test how to link a big thumbnail back to a larger image (hosted on my own site). The first 'Bad moon rising' relates to the current tragic epidemic. Sadly it seems today's courageous medics and carers have little more protection than the 'plague doctors' of the past. In the larger image the pseudo-random pixel patterns suggest demonic faces to me, probably just an 'inkblot' (Rorschach) effect. The second is the result of various geometrical distortions ... which I find strangely erotic... just my sordid mind then!πŸ˜„
  4. Hello Gavin, Have you looked at the help files here? https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/SelectionTools.html After a selection tool is selected you should see the selection modes on the top left. If not, are you sure you are using paint.net (not MS paint)?
  5. You are inferring a rule which is not implicit in the first image... you could recreate the second image only with prior knowledge of the the second image... which seems pointless to most sane people.
  6. Sorry, no. A plugin could link each white pixel to the nearest white pixel, ('Gossamer' does something similar). No plugin could work out exactly what you think the original image represents and draw it. Even the best so called 'A.I.'! - that's why we need humans (for the time being).πŸ‘½πŸ™ƒ
  7. Beautiful work Vagabondi 🌞 Stay safe!
  8. Makc - see the post above - thanks again for reporting this!
  9. Ooops! - sorry - will investigate straight away. Thanks for letting me know. I added a '.php' download counter and got it wrong, evidently. For the moment here is the .zip. I think I've solved the download problem so have removed the attached file.
  10. Hello Jackie, welcome to the forum! Sounds like you have the Windows store version installed? If so, you will have to create some new folders to place the effects in. Please read these plug-in installation instructions (in the official documentation) - towards the bottom of the page. https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/InstallPlugins.html
  11. 'Null54's posts in this thread may help if you want to convert to a Windows forms U.I. https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/27382-scribble-temp-surface-prop-rules-questions/ Good luck!
  12. This Moshyfawn idiot is redistributing without permission.☹️ He (I assume the user is male), is redistributing my own effects. I have just downloaded one (Aardvark). It appears to be virus free and the same size as the original but I cannot be sure. However that's not the point! He is not collaborating and not creating anything - just stealing! @AndrewDavid & HyRez - if I take something of yours and redistribute it without your permission or knowledge how would you feel? Let's hope E.E.R's notice will change things.
  13. Hi Lynxster, What a colourful frog - Love it! - Many thanks for posting the image. Yes it seems to work well after Artything, Scribble, TGM and TGA. A subtle TGA layer on top (eg. overlay) can work well too.
  14. Good work Vagabondi! Thanks for posting the example images. I'm pleased you are experimenting with what it can do.
  15. That's the glitch! - good thinking & thanks πŸ˜‰ Now, how to get two links into that image?... I know it's possible... half joking/sigs don't show if not logged in so just me be O.C.D. - must stop washing my hands🀧
  16. Sorry - I know the forum accepts 'web.p' images but just testing and this uploaded image doesn't show either? Do we have to use links only??? Apologies for the triple posts - I'm just trying to get my 'sig' to work - without success!...Grrrrrr Admin please delete these superfluous posts πŸ˜‡
  17. Name: Grow .dll name: Grow Description: Iteratively compares each pixel to the surrounding ones and takes their values, depending on the mode and threshold chosen. Similar to the built-in 'Median' effect but with more options. Keywords: median, mean, grow, shrink, erode, dilate, dots, circles, squares, diamonds, smooth edge, bokeh, watercolour, outline Menu: Artistic Original release date: March 2020 Author: Red ochre (John Robbins) Compatibility: Pdn 4+ only. Will NOT work on Pdn 3. Installation: For the free (classic) version of paint.net, download the '.zip' file. Right-click and select 'extract all' then place the 'Grow.dll' file in the paint.net/Effects folder. For the MS store version, visit the forum documentation (press the 'F1' key when Pdn is open). Here is a new effect called 'Grow'. I'm publishing it via my website where there are more details and examples. Download link & examples (This should work now - Please let me know, here, if the download is broken - thanks) The image above uses it to turn a photo into a passable watercolour-like image. It has many other possible uses too. Many thanks to Ego Eram Reputo and Pixey πŸ’—for testing the effect (and webpage). Please post examples of what you can make using it, or any questions, in this thread. Enjoy!πŸ˜‰
  18. Always good to see your latest creations! Love the flaming Sun/Star texture. (Does anyone know the difference between an upvote and a like? ... I don't πŸ™„)
  19. Pdn v 4.2.9 - Rotation of selection around the selection centre works as expected for me. Are you 100% certain you don't have a stray pixel selected unnoticed that could be skewing where the centre is? Does it work correctly if you deselect all then make a rectangular selection?
  20. If using LionsDragon's method, holding down shift while resizing may help to maintain aspect ratio. Or... Open the 4032*3024 image, go to Image/resize and reduce it to 512px and save with a different name. You can then select all and easily paste into another 512px image.
