hey thanx for responding. i used this tutrial here on the forums. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/14617-image-in-text/ as you can see, it does not recognize the holes in the letters. he went back and used illipse since he only had a capital "B" to do. again, thanx for any help! trying to learn!

OK. I see I have a "Illipse Select" and a "Rectangle Select" but what do I do if I need to select and cut custom shapes? I'm attaching a sample of what I'm trying to do. I need to cut out the centers of the letters "a", "d", and "e". Thanx!
