  1. I would suggest the following (if I understand your question correctly with regard to faded in the sun and not sharp): 1. Make your primary color yellow. 2. Set the Alpha Transparency of your secondary color to zero - by clicking more in your color pallet, you will see the transparency slider at the bottom. 3. in a New layer above your image layer apply a Linear Gradient. I hope this helps
  2. 2 dimensional is basically up, down, left and right, while 3 dimensional adds depth allowing you to move backwards and forwards also. Taking this into account any given picture is 2 dimensional, while the perception of depth can be achieved through shadows and making things appear as though they are in the distance. PDN works in 2D and all tutorials are 2 dimensional, albeit many of them add the perception of depth through shadows, etc. In answer to your question (I think), all of the tutorials will make 2D art, many with the illusion of 3D.
  3. Congrats to Welshy and well done all... some great work there!
  4. A very simple and a very nice way of creating a gem!
  5. I like them both for different reasons: NN - very clean & simple and nice on the eye. XZerizon - loads of detail but slightly too busy for my mind. nitenurse - 1 XZerizon - 0
  6. 100% PDN... and that goes for my paint brush drawn wolf also - which kept looking like a seal until I added the ears.
  7. Congrats to all. I completely echo barbie's sentiments.
  8. I don't normally do sig's. Given that it's winter here and I am missing the summer & fishing, I couldn't help myself: 100% PDN
  9. This should answer your question: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/24764-writing-a-word-with-different-colors/ Although it just crossed my mind that you might be asking about the mouseover, where the text changes color when the mouse rolls over it. If this is the case the text is created with two dimensionally identical images with a difference in the text color. The Javascript code then needs to be written into your page telling the image to alter when the mouse passes over the image. This however is not the place for questions relating to DHTML, etc, and so I hope the above hyperlink answers your question. Cheers, V
  10. Great tutorial. Playing with the cloud settings will yield different results. I got the below on my second attempt: @Hougeson - trial and error will give you what you are after!
  11. In addition and prior to the above you will want to center the image in both directions. It currently appears to be off center!
  12. If you are referring to this: I drew 2 lines on a layer, and duplicated the layer. I then applied a gaussian blur to the bottom layer. I merged the top layer down and removed the blur from the inside.
  13. Duplicate the layer, and on the new layer delete everything but the holes which you want to glow. Then apply glow to them while they are on their own layer... make sure the hole layer is on the top!
  14. Du Write your word on a layer, and duplicate the layer as many times as there are colors. Change the color of the word in each layer, and then go through each layer removing the letter which you do not require.
  15. I do a fair bit of this and my rule of thumb is to make the image double the size of the print; which always appears to yield great results. Seeing your images makes me wish I was back in NZ fly fishing. I go there once a year (South Island), set up camp in Woodstock and fish the Wangapeka and Motueka rivers. Cheers, V.
  16. Another alternative to NinjaManDan's suggestion is to: 1. Create your text in black on a new layer above the picture. 2. Duplicate that layer and change the text to white on the top layer. 3. Run the 'Trail' plugin by pyrochild back on your black text layer to whatever settings work the best for you. 4. Merge down the white text layer on to the black text layer. 5. Reduce the texts layer opacity to whatever suits. The above will place the shadow outside of the font as per the image. Bevel selection will place a 3D shadow effect inside the font. Left: Bevel Right: Trail The trail plugin link: http://forums.getpai...showtopic=18653 Cheers, V.
  17. The best I could do given 30 minutes of playing around with lots of things: I would not even know where to begin in an effort to explain how I got there! Hopefully you can use the above image as is. Cheers, V
  18. With all the different brushes around I thought "why bother?"... and then I inexplicably found myself doing this. LOL The original candle smoke looked somewhat flimsy. I had to duplicate the layer three times and under noise I changed the median to replicate the flame 3 times over... but smaller and with subtle color variances using color balance and not flames... so not following the tutorial exactly. Nice idea NinjaManDan21. Cheers, V.
  19. I'm not sure if anybody has a better suggestion, but I can really only think of using the clone stamp tool to select area's outside of the 'bright spot', and in turn clone them into the 'bright spot' region.
  20. Hope I'm not too late! Stock: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/images/2010/getting-fit-and-strong-the-bruce-lee-way_bsm.jpg Cheers, V
  21. It would help to upload the picture as the answer could be very simple or complicated depending on where the bright spot is!
