take your photos in colour then open in paint.net got to adjustments then black and white then then got to adjustments again and go down to levels then just fiddle with the top input and output sliders then your done

heres a little picture i made to help you http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j472/lmsvv/shadowtut.jpg im not saying that you always have to draw a sun from know on but just imagine where you want the light to come from and do the same teqnique as in the picture
