  1. Switch blending to the "Addictive"...nice =D lol, jk Nice effect. Simple(not a bad thing though!).....but it may be too simple afcdon posted the wrong link, I think...the Tut rules is this one. I can't say if your tut violates any rules, only the mods can decide that for sure, but IMHO, you may want to reread rules -5a and 6. I'm been around since Septemberish, and have been using PdN for a lot longer and still don't feel skilled enough to post tuts.(I'm getting there though! lol) Your first post doesn't have to be spreading knowledge. Good luck though...Many of the users on here can be harsh, but don't let that turn you away from the forum or using PdN. Harshness is just a way to get people to work harder on their art and create better, more amazing arts.
  2. I'd like to enter with this: It's reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick's 'The Shining'(1980)...IMHO, the best horror film EVARRR
  3. Yes, Happy holidays to all!! ^_^ Be very careful if your happen to have to drive through inclement weather this break
  4. Yes, Happy holidays to all!! ^_^ Be very careful if your happen to have to drive through inclement weather this break
  5. That's a neat tutorial dealing with layers. It will help you understand more about layers ^_^
  6. YES! Not sure how I missed it, but that's actually the one I used last time ^_^ Sweetness...thanks! :cookie: This can now either be locked or be forgotten into the depths of nothingness...unless anyone knows how to make the edges look torn?
  7. Alrighty...I'm trying to "burn" the edges of a piece that I'm working on...Unfortunately, I can't find a tut to make burnt edges...Well, I did(Burnt Parchment Edges) but the pictures have been removed and I can't really follow along because the author refers to the pictures a lot and it leaves me lost with nothing to look at...:( So yeah...I dug around in the Tuts section for a bit and couldn't find anything similar to what I'm wanting. I thought there was another(because I did burn the edges of something a while back) but I couldn't refind that tut...if it did indeed exist... If there's one the I somehow missed, please post a link... If not....HELP ME???? Please? I'll share the sugar cookies my mom made ^_^ I'm wanting either burntish edges or ripped papery edges Thanks in advance ^_^ Now I shall return to digging through the archives until one of the PdN gods decides to take pity on a poor little PdN novice and help her out...
  8. <====== ^_^ This tut taught me about Alpha Masks...they were always too scary for me to try in the past...lol ^_^ Anyways, I used bits of this tut to make my avatar
  9. Could you use Eclipse Selection and just use bulge/Zoom/whatever else on the ball? Haven't actually tested it, but it might work...
  10. Just checked out the article...and WOW...That's really neat...Not sure how it would be done(not really familiar with Photoshop) But, if anyone on here knows how to do this, I'd also like to know...lol
  11. Here's the link for the Color Filter plugin that mountnman suggested. It'll be in Effects>Color when you install it. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=1768 Also, as an added bonus, the link for how to install plugins in case you don't know
  12. I'm curious too. lol...several people have asked Qs and mentioned that they upload to Pb and the respondent's first point of advice is "Well, don't use Pb lol ^_^" It confused me lol I like your sig, btw, W@@dy
  13. @ W@@dy True facts =) I've played with a copy of CS3 a friend has and prefer PDN...although, I do enjoing playing with their Flash program...lol
  14. PDN doesn't have a very steep learning curve, luckily ^_^...To me, it was much simpler than Photoshop. just practice and play around with the tutorials and you can learn A LOT =) Also, it may help to go to the Plugins section and get some of those. There's instructions on how to install the plugins. They are really helpful and add tons of new features to PDN, i.e. you can do more stuff much easier.
  15. Try "How to make iPod Ads"....Haven't tried this tut myself, but it may be similar to what you're wanting. I did a few silhouette pieces a few years ago, and as I remember, I selected my person(that I wanted colored), switch to a new layer, and used "Paint bucket" to color that selection, then I inverted the selection(Ctrl+I) and filled that in with my other color. Delete the background layer(the one with the photo) and viola! One silhouette! Good luck!!
  16. Sorry if this is against the "No soliciting rule"...As I understand and read, it shouldn't be. I also apologize if I missed a previous thread already on this topic...I promise I searched. ^_^'' ANYWHO, I'm curious and want some opinions on what photo uploading site you all suggest to use. I know a lot of people say don't use Photobucket. I've tried them Flickr, and Imageshack and was just curious which ya'll preferred and thought was the best. I like Flickr, but every time I try to post pictures on here using Flickr, I get some error message about file types(I think). I've gotten the best results from Photobucket though. So, I was just curious what you all recommend. Again, sorry if this break any rules...please lock it or move it or whatever else. =) Thanks
  17. Well, coming to the PDN forum and asking this question seems kind of biased, but I digress... Personally, I prefer PDN...for me, it's easier to learn. It's also free, and as a broke college student, that's pretty important. lol I have also used PS though...When I used to use both programs, I would use PS for some projects, like photo touch ups, and PDN for creating stuff.
  18. Are all the images open in PDN right now? or are they saved in a previous location already? If they're already saved else, just copy and paste the files into the new folder If they are all open in PDN, I'm seriously wonder why you have that many images open because not only you your PDN crash, your power could go out, etc, etc, that could cause you to loose everything you've worked on, but it's seriously got to be bogging down your system...heck, large pictures slow mine down. lol So...I'm working on the assumption that they are save elsewhere. Just go to their current folder, cut/copy them and paste them into the new folder. If you're under option two, then yeah, you'll have to save them one by one.
  19. Rawr. I figured it would get moved by the end of the day...Ya'll mods have CONSTANT VIGILANCE
  20. Effects > Photo > Red Eye Removal or has "Red eye quick fix" Also, quick FYI...read the rules or else the mods will come down heavy on you This will probably get moved to General Discussion and Questions since Tutorials isn't really the place for questions... General Discussion and Questions is...well...the place for questions.
  21. That's really a personal preference thing. Personally, PDN has a more comfortable GUI then PS. Not everybody decides y/n in such a short amount of time. It took me quite a while to decide that I would keep it. The learning curve isn't really steep. Also, IDK much about copyrights and stuff, but I have a feeling that making a GUI exactly like PS would be some kind of copyright infringement...
  22. mattz1996: 1 Heat Stroke:0 I really really like both sigs, but IMO, mattz's looks more...finished? Not sure if that's the right word...It just seems like Heat's is missing...something...
  23. I hope they do too...*HINTHINT* lol...I miss using my tablet.
  24. Most of the simpler stuff can be found of the help page, http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/index.html ... The tool for resizing the canvas is in the "Images" menu. As far as moving selections, just select it with one of the selection tools in the Tools window, then switch to the "Move Selection" tool. You can also re-size the selection using this tool by adjusting the nubs around the edge of the selection. Also, you might want to put each picture on a separate layer until you get the placement right, then flatten. Hope that helped =)
