Using that huge a size picture is going to cause your website ages to load. And the size will also cause a lot of scrolling for most. It would be better to create just a small tile of it and use it as a background (with it repeating itself horizontally and vertically).

For some reason I have trouble convincing Second Life to show transparency in my png files. I usually end up having to use tga. And even there it is picky with which program I save my tga.
