  1. My Firefox is up-to-date, v.85. I don't know where to get v.87.

I downloaded the image and pasted it in Paint and PDN. I resized by 300% at default settings for clarity, placed a black background in the PDN copy for comparison. See the results below.

I cannot see any drop in quality. If you can, feel free to repeat the same, only this time resize in PDN using "nearest neighbour".

TBH, I cannot see any drop in quality even in the images posted by the OP.

PS.: For anyone wanting to try, the correct link for the image is this

  2. I wish I could find a *blushing* emoticon to post here. This one is the competition I spent the least time on, ever.

Congratulations to all who posted their creations. Almost everyone won! Special congratulations @Reptillian for his 1st place and thanks for the tool that made everyone's images; special congratulations to @lynxster4 too, for her 1st place and thanks for her time and effort in hosting the competition. I like @Reptillian's first entry best, the one in orange that got first place.

I was expecting my second entrance to receive the most votes of the three entries I had submitted.

I think your first one is the best and most interesting by far (or is it "by a lot"?) and I'm interested in the settings you used, if you can share.

I did not vote for your second entry because I avoid voting for entries with vertical / portrait orientation. I respect the competition rules but I think vertical images have no place in a signature competition.

    Image List (Tabs):
If I have more than one thumbnail image in the tabs row of the image list, only one of those images is visibly displayed. It may be the fifth image tab, the first one, or the twentieth image in the row. The areas where the tabs exist are blank, but I can click on a blank area where the tabs are usually visible, and an image I created will appear on the canvas.

I have had exactly this happen to me too, perhaps three or four times over the last few months. Unlike @Hatori360, I did not check further to see how the tabs behave, nor did I check to see if there were any problems with the Layers window.

Every time, I just restarted PDN and the problem disappeared. I just assumed that it's a memory problem or my ageing computer telling me it's time to retire it and let it rest.

  4. @Nodwood, if you work with existing gifs that already have a transparent background, you don't need to do anything. Edit as you like and then save as gif. The transparent background will be preserved.

When you create a new image from scratch, first delete the white background colour that comes with the background layer:

    1. Select all (Ctrl+A)

    2. Hit the "Delete" key on your keyboard

    3. Work on the transparent background, create your image, Save As gif.

@Pixey, the undisputed animated gif queen of the PDN forums, understandably sometimes forgets that not all gifs need to be animated.

  5. Thank you @felix-hilden for sharing.

Reading your description, I thought we would be able to select any of the basic RGB colours to keep. So I'm a bit disappointed that we only have a choice of black or white.

    The UI for those wondering:

I did some testing to compare with some of the many options available. I used a yellow background to make the details visible at this size:

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I do like the results!

I suppose I could build you a custom version with whatever defaults for each slider you want.

That would not be necessary if we could "repeat" (Ctrl+whatever) Adjustments, like we do Effects (Ctrl+F).

(It really is not worth the trouble searching for my post but...) I suggested it a few years ago and, if I remember right, even @Rick Brewster agreed it would be helpful.
