I uninstalled ".NET Framework 4 Client Profile" then restarted the computer and reinstalled Paint.NET but it didn't work. This is just really weird. I had been using Paint.NET for well over a year and never had problems. I'm not sure what I did or downloaded to cause this problem.

So it's been a couple months since I tried all those things and it still won't function. I have the latest version, I have ran the windows install clean up tool several times, and even PdnRepair with no results. Is there anything else I can try? I tried that and rebooted but I'm still having problems. Would it have anything to do with a recent Java update? I'm looking back at system restore and on April 5 I installed Java 6 Update 19 and nothing else is listed as being installed after that. I can't think of anything else that I have downloaded.

Yes, all of those files are there.

Yes I rebooted after the Platform Update. I just installed v3.5.5 but the error still comes up.

Thanks for the help so far. I went into my updates and installed the Platform Update but I'm still getting the error.

Each time I try to start the program it will crash and an error message pops up mentioning an unhandled error. I tried uninstalling then reinstalling but the problem still remains.
