I solved the problem by having the person who emailed the photographs get them to me on a CD. They downloaded to paint.net easily. Paint.net does not recognize photos received via Email.

I can open the photographs, view them and print them, but I can't edit them with paint.net which does not recognize them.

I have Paint.net V3.5.2. On desktop, photos are listed as Windows Live Mail under the Type heading. They were obtained via Email. Paint.net does not recognize them even when I move them into Library.

Cannot get Paint.net to recognize photos downloaded from Windows Live Mail and moved to desktop for editing.
