OK.. But is it possible with another software? In fact I need a blurred transparent image, that I can apply in a videogame so it make blur on player's screen (using directx image functions) I would appreciate any suggestions about this, thanks.

Hello! I'm a new user of Paint.NET, I find it very cool and I thank anyone who contributed to this software However I need to do something and I can't find a way to do it . I have an image in background, and a transparent layer on top of it. I want to apply a blur effect on the transparent layer, so I don't modify the main layer where is the image, and so I can reuse this layer to affect other background images with the same blur effect! Is that possible and if yes, how? Thanks already
