  1. Thanks again for your continued help Sarkut! That's awesome, how did you manage to get that effect?
  2. Thanks for taking a stab at it Sark. I opened up the file and messed around with it a bit more. It seems you just added more layers (which is a valid direction to take it) but it didn't do much to change the overall effect of the logo. I really wish I had a tablet to try and free-hand my attempt at it. Basically, this is the idea I want to pull off... http://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/photo-effects-tutorials/manipulate-smoke-to-create-hyper-real-images/
  3. Alright, as requested Sarkut, here's the PDN... http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fi ... 4138432233 It's sorta a mess, so you might have to sort through the layers. I assume everyone knows the effect or at least the idea I'm shooting for?
  4. Thanks for the replies/input guys. Just to give you an idea, I've worked with PDN for several years, so I'm not necessarily an novice, but I've never attempted an effect like this as well. Either way, I started messing around with it some more and this is what I came up with. It's not as "smokey" as I would like it, but I don't want it smudged to the point of not being recognized (afterall this is going to be an advertisement). Tell me what you think....I can send someone the PDN file as well if someone is interested in taking a stab...
  5. I really hate to bump this, but can someone at least point me in the right direction as to how I can at least attempt to try this myself?
  6. So I'm working on a project for a gaming community I belong to, and have been attempting for days to add the community's logo to my work. However, I'm having trouble manipulating the logo into what I want to look like smoke rising from the ashes or rubble. I've searched for a few tutorials and have even came across a "Smoke Effect" set of brushes, but nothing seems to work. Basically, I'm trying to incorporate the logo somewhere in the back of the "zombie pile" that isn't necessarily a focal point (maybe obscured a bit) and mimics the look of smoke rising from one of the burning buildings in the background. Also, I'd love for the logo's placement not to conflict with much of the focal point (the zombie pile, especially the blood). Any help would be greatly appreciated. *Image I'm Using: *Logo I want to Incorporate: Thanks again!
  7. Thanks again gents. I decided to treat myself and ordered it. Going to try it out next week with good ol' PDN.
  8. Ahhhh, thanks for clearing that up (makes sense to me now ;P) I guess that's not a deal killer, but it sure as hell would be nice if it was an available feature. I assume PS offers this feature?
  9. I assume "pressure sensitivity" is in reference to the "touch" feature? In other words, I should be able to use the pen just fine, but not "hand suggestions"? Should it be just plug n' play, no drivers released specifically for PDN for use of tablets?
  10. Hey everyone, so I've been using Paint.net off and on for the past year or so, and have to say I love what I can do with such a great program (especially one that is "free"). I've decided to try my hand at what can be done with a tablet, rather than a mouse. I was curious if anyone else may use a tablet and can give me any and all impressions. This of course is assuming tablet compatibility is there and stable. I'm looking to pickup this particular tablet: http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-CTL460-Bamboo-Pen-Tablet/dp/B002OOWC3I/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1264129800&sr=8-2
