is there a reason why? seems like a simple-enough tool. one would hope it is available either through plug-in, or in the program itself in the near future? either that, or there is history here i'm unaware of... thanks for the quick response!

I can't find anything in the forums or the program that suggests there is a Heal Tool, something that would (as an example) remove sensor dust bunnies from photographs, etc. Cloning is usually not an option when imagery is extremely complex. Does Paint.Net have the ability? KThxBai...
