  1. Thanks. But I dont know what happened, but I ran another installer that uses the same software as Paint.NET, and it said something about deinstalling Paint.NET. So I saw that and tried installating PDN again and it worked. I think my computer is possessed by demons. Thanks again.
  2. System specs: OK, so a bit of background in case it helps: A few weeks ago, my computer got unplugged (I'm too poor to get a UPS ), and the hard drive developed a few bad sectors. One of those bad sectors ended up being right on a system file ... and you can guess what happened. I had to reinstall. Luckily, I did not lose any files (they were on a data partition). So the latest chkdsk/hard drive manufacturer diagnostic tool thingy came out just fine, but every time I try to install Paint.NET it would hang on me. First I would click through the options (e.g. desktop icon) and then it would hang during the actual installation and then turn grey, and then after a few minutes explorer.exe would start hanging and everything would get frozen up and I would have to hit the reset button. I downloaded the latest version in case it was due to a bad sector; no luck. Also, the second time I tried to install, it did this de-installation thing of the previous failed installation. But then it would hang again. Thanks for any help.
  3. May not be coherent here so I apologize ahead of time... All right, I been using Paint.NET just fine for a long time. Then all of a sudden it complains that it needs the .NET Framework 3.5 to run. Now, here's the extra weird part -- I reinstalled the framework. And it still complains. Vista Home Premium, 32-bit, no service packs. Tried running as administrator (as often it clears up those odd little software problems) but doesn't work. I tried a search and didn't find anything relevant (although it's more likely to be my lousy Google skills than lack of anything) Thanks for any help and it's a good program. P.S. For some reason this page says net framework 2.0.
