  1. thank you rock and sperber!!

pffff wish I had my internet back yet... Finally was able to pay for the last three months so I should have it back on soon, yaaaaaaay

and younger people on the forum, do not start with kids until you have a good job!!!! lol

anyway, from tomorrow it is back to school with me since I can not find a job... I am going to study for a booker, yes that is weird because I want to be creative, but, in these times you must have a good job and there are just a few bookers around here so my chances to find a job within a year with this study is pretty high...

I miss you all a lot, and I wish I was here much much more. I saw there are a couple new people on the forum with their own gallery so I try to hop in those in a minute to see all those wonderful works!!! sorry if I can not respond to everyone and every work, I do not have time for that... (I have till 11am european time)

    lots of huggles for everyone!!!!

  2. thanks everyone :-)

Welsh, is your throat feeling better now? you really were shouting for an hour and a half? that is a mega huge compliment for me, haha

I can say to all of you that I am still working on some projects, but I have less inspiration now I do not have internet, very strange is that... I might have internet from next week, if i am able to pay, lol...

yeah, when you have a kid... lol

hope to get back here soon... I need to see lots of art :-)

  3. not to be mean or anything, but... if you like all those tools in mspaint, why complain here instead of using mspaint? I mean, after every point you say: as in MSPaint. I don't see the point of that... PDN is and will always be a great program which I love to use...

But I do agree with you about the brushes, for example: if you lower the transparency of a color, and paint with it, it's not a smooth line, but you can see dot over dot kind of... or, if you would like to create something which looks like an waterpaint painting you will need more tools than just a brush to create that effect...

  4. Thanks everyone... I'm getting to feel shy actually, that's for the first time!

The right iris, yes, it's not perfect, but when I wanted to change it, the layer was already merged down... oops... but I can see a lot more mistakes on this one, hoping the next will be better... one with Jacob Black, trying to do my first guy!

  5. a screenshot of pdn, while doing alpha blur (I first finished all the rest of the image and put all that in one layer, otherwise it would have been too much) and yes, that is my entire screen, two screens actually, the one I use pdn for is a computer flat screen plugged into my acer aspire one, where pdn is running on and on the right side is my acer screen :P did not had the mood to cut that part away...

EDIT: click the image you will be linked to my flickr, right click and choose bigger size

  7. For an image I am doing right now, I wanted to use the Alpha blur, for some fading effect, now, a part of the selection does not blur, I do not know If I do something wrong or that there is a bug... I'll show you:

I started off with this one. a background and a woman (both on a different layer

    6736346403_843dec7d3e.jpg

Now I added a new layer - copied a small selection from the background and added it on the layer on top of the woman as shown here :

    6754379361_4b5482fb16.jpg

I got the rectangle select tool from around middle height till bottom of the image (to speed up) and set the alpha blur setting to 45, and next is the result of that:

    6754379371_1b2efccabb.jpg

you see in the right corner it's not been blurred, even if I set the settings to 100 that part does not blur at all...

After testing all of my blurs (I think I have them all) just the Gaussian blur+ and the Alpha blur gave me this weird result at the right bottom corner

so, just try and smudge it? or is there somewhere a bug?

  8. uhm... I have no idea why, but I get the same result if I use Gaussian blur + at 45...?? must be me doing something wrong then right?

edit: normal gaussian blur does do that not

edit2: after testing all the blurs I have and just Alpha blur and Gaussian blur+ gave me such weird results

I could use the bidirectional blur, but it doesn't give the same effect. What am I doing wrong?
