  1. Thanks for your comments... and Welsh, I was thinking of you all yesterday too, so I just wanted to check out you amazing galleries :) You all gained soooo much experience, where my experience in PDN has stopped developing. I'm an advanced Adobe CS user now and I must say... I miss some plug-ins in CS that PDN actually DOES have but CS not...

Never knew I was a legend here! And yes, Johnnysdream, I painted those by hand... but I must confess that I used reference pictures and put a sketch effect on it... that layer helped me with the outline for painting. That part, the beautiful sketch effect, isn't that great and simple and easy to do in Photoshop.... Also... I never used a drawing-tablet, all was drawn with a simple computer mouse.

I know PDN will never be available for Mac, but if it was, I would start using it daily again :)

Tomy has grown A LOT, almost 3 years old now and sleeping in a big bed since this week, also already going to school in the mornings :) He says HI!

    Love ya PDN-users!

  2. it's been over a year since I last was here. omg that rhymes.

Anyway, just wanted to let my old friends here know, finally got a job in graphic design... what I was wishing for ever since I found out pdn... unfortunately, I can't work with it anymore (mac user now, SORRY) but if you'd like, you could check out my online portfolio: https://www.behance.net/Iedema

Love ya all and love all the works (welsh, Helen, Pixy, BBQ and all others  :) )

  3. thanks for the comments...

@ BB I don't want to buy a laptop anymore... I hate those things, lol and besides, I don't take them away from home, so why would I need one? I was looking for an iMac or a Mac Pro, but since the last one is really too expensive, I probably will get an iMac...

@ nanette, since the latest version of Mac, you are able to put non-mac programs on it, but you will need to have Intel, am I right SAND33P?

anyway, I won't throw away the laptop I have now, so it will be possible to keep on doing PDN, but certainly I will try to get PDN on a Mac, or Rick could write, program stuff he is good at, so PDN will also be able to run on the mac?

  4. Hi, just had a couple moments to look @ the galleries, (which I try to do as much as I can) and I see the above comments, so I just HAD to create some minutes to respond :)

Nanette (&also all of the others) I love the artworks I see around here lately, like your work for BBQ & Helen (I thought), Welsh!  love the way you did this last piece Nanette, it's very eye-catching and the details are wonderful!

I would totally love to do a collab with you, if I just new where to find time, there aren't enough hours in one day nor in a week. But I luckily am doing something that I really like (studying prepress) the week of 11 feb I have one week off from school & work, so if you like we could do something then :)

lots of huggles to all of you!

  5. First of all, thanks bbq and helen for those nice comments :) I hate being not around here as much as I want to... I miss all of the good stuff, new people etc...

Poets of the Fall made a lil movie of the highlights of their German Tour and guess what? My paintings are in it! (look closely @ 2:33)

It clearly is not the Louvre, but it is very special to me :)

As for new works... I have already been busy for it for an entire month, but I have not enough time to really work on it... you can see it @ page 1 under new works :)

Have a very happy new year!

edit: video is not working for me... I'll post the link instead

    edit 2: now it's working :P

  6. Hi everyone...

it has been a while, again!! grrrr, every time I am happy being back, something happens and I can't be on anymore. This time I had a major computervirus and had to wait for my friend to fix it, otherwise, I would have lost some important documents and images...

anyway, it's getting annoying, being back and gone, back and gone, so i hope I'll be back for longer this time :) especially for the awards of course! I have some really good ones in my mind :)

Here are some pictures, taken at the concert in Cologne of Poets of the Fall, I was the lucky girl who won 2 tickets, and after the show, after asking some people of the crew, I actually was able to give them the posters I made and framed! I have been talking with them, and went on some pics with them :) The pics are slightly edited in PDN of course :) The paintings I made are now on their studio wall :)

lol, as you can see I am a huge fan of the singer, so most pics are of him :P

  7. Thank you all so much for your usefull comments, will get to it right away! I already removed a tiny bit of red with the color balance option, it looks better that way, more realistic...

I have already spent around 30 hours on this one, and I can add 1 or 2 hours on top of it :) Next one will be my son, or yet an other celeb... Also have some ideas of doing a fantasy woman with a blue or green skin... lol. So many ideas, so little time...

By the way, this was the original (471x720) My version has become: (1043 x 1600) lol

  8. Hi everyone, and thanks... well at least I have internet back (at least for a month) and here is a new pic... 110%PDN as usual, tools used: blurs, tools from the toolbox, transparency, layers and layer blending modes and at last some color balance, contrast effects...

    8073712741_16af662633_c.jpg

Please tell me if I have to change anything, or if you see something wrong, so I can edit it before printing on canvas (end of this month)

  9. THanks you both :) most of it is painted by mouse, but some parts are from the real image and smudged, since it wouldn't work at some parts... Is that cheating? lol

anyway, as I said in the competition of painting vehicles, I have no money t pay for the internet, I am now at my parents place where I am not allowed to do a lot with the computer (they are scared for bugs and virusses and all) so it will take a while before I can be on again...

Hope to be on soon again!!

  10. hi, I had some majure internet problems (still have) I amnow at my parents place in the Netherlands but Iam going home today... Also they won't allow me to dowload anything and since it would take a while to have my internet back (having no money to pay) I won't be on soon... So I really hope someone of the host would want to finish this competition by setting up the poll?

    Hope to be back soon!!

  11. The composition looks great. I'm not too keen on the bodies cut abruptly from the bottom. If you can fade them out a bit into the black it would look more natural and fit in with the poster better. Otherwise, it looks like a real poster already and if you're going to paint it and do it successfully, then there's nothing that you can't do in Paint.NET. Good luck!

giggles, like I said, they are ruffly cut out, of course I have a plan for that ;-) but I can't do that yet if I still have to paint it...

There is A LOT I can not do in Paint.NET, I can't even make a jewel with all those plug-ins, in fact I don't even know what all of those plug-ins do! That's because I only focus on painting... lol, But thanks a lot for your nice comment :-)
