  1. There are rulers in Paint.NET, you can not drag them onto the canvas however.
  2. To get rid of the ragged edges, try using the Feather plugin.
  3. UPDATE: Organizer updated so that multiple blend modes can be selected and moved at once.
  4. Thanks barkbark for the comments, I was actually thinking the same things early today. I agree that the organizer needs a little updating, and I was actually hoping someone would give me their thoughts about the organizer. I probably work on it a little bit later tonight.
  5. Thanks Lance. And I've been trying... just haven't had any plausible ideas yet.
  6. I honestly don't know what you mean by this. As far as I know, the only Rotate/Zoom is the one I mentioned earlier. As for Lighten and Darken, those are blend modes already included in Paint.NET. EDIT: Unless you mean the Darken and Lighten effects that come with KrisVDM's plugin pack.
  7. Rotate/Zoom is a built-in function. You should be able to find it under Layers --> Rotate/Zoom or by pressing Ctrl + Z.
  8. UPDATE: Additive, Color Burn, Color Dodge, Difference, Glow, Multiply, Negation, Overlay, Reflect, and Screen blend modes added. Maximum and Minimum renamed to Darken and Lighten. Also when you download the plugin, you will find a stand-alone executable file that allows you to show, hide, and organize the various blend modes to your liking.
  9. There is a Thresold plugin that is part of Ed Harvey's plugin pack. It should give you the effect you need, although you'll have to color it yourself afterward, since the plugin gives you black and white results. EDIT: Selective Palette may also be useful if you only load a few colors.
  10. For the first two, make sure that you have the latest version of Curtis Blacks' plugins. As for the rest that say: "This plugin is now built-in to Paint.NET.", you can just ignore those.
  11. Make sure you have the latest version of the plugins. I am pretty sure that Curtis updated them to work with 3.5.x.
  12. It sounds like the Tile Image plugin might be what you want also.
  13. I'll work on the 'Copy From Clipboard' function sometime later this week. As for adding this to BlendModes Plus, I'd have to see what I can do.
  14. The reason for this is because when you type a multiline block of text in a word processor, it will automatically move the text to the next line when you hit the edge of the document. However, when you type text in Paint.NET the words aren't automatically shifted down. So what you'll need to do is press the enter button every time you want the text to go to the next line.
  15. Thanks for the suggestions. I've thought about adding the native blend modes to BlendModes Plus, but I figured it would just be repetitive. I'd like to see what others think before I do anything there. As for allowing the order of the blend modes to be set, I'll definitely look into it. I might try coding something up either today or tomorrow.
  16. If you put the text on a new layer, you can use the Glow plugin which should be located under Effects --> Photo --> Glow.
  17. 99har: What kind of problems are you experiencing? Are you getting any error messages? Do you need help installing the plugin? I need a little more information about your problems so I can help you.
  18. I can't say I've ever heard of any books about Paint.NET, but if you press F1 while Paint.NET is open, you can view the online help for Paint.NET which should help you with the basics. Also, there is a Newbie Playground section in the Tutorials part of this forum. The tutorials there may also help you.
  19. UPDATE: Exclusion, Maximum, Minimum, Phoenix, and Soft Light blend modes added.
  20. 1.) I believe that Windows Vista and Windows 7 you can set favorite places for Save and Open dialogs, making them easy to access. I don't know how to do this in Windows 7, but I imagine it's the same process in Vista. First open up C:\Users\(Your Username)\Links. Then just place shortcuts in there to your favorite place. Next time you open a Save or Open dialog they should appear in the upper-left hand corner. 2.) There is no way to change the default save type right now. However, saving in .png will always give you better quality, and if you're worried about file size, you could try saving with the OptiPNG plugin which keeps the quality of .png while reducing file size. Hope this helps.
