  1. I just had an idea regarding how effects work. What if there was an "effect layer" for each layer? Rather than the effect permanently change that layer, it could just be added onto that layer, rendered, edited, and removed at will. This way having to undo an effect wouldn't have to be done chronologically. And if later in the process we decided that an effect was not what we are looking for, we just turn it off and try something else-- the layer wouldn't have to be recreated. Example: I create some fine looking text. I edit the effects layer for that layer to add a blur and an outline. I then make all sorts of other layers, and I decide I don't like the way the outline looks. So I can then edit the effect layer for that layer, and I turn off the outline. I imagine that this would cause some resource opportunities (polite word for issues), as the effects would have to be "painted" on for everything. How can we make this happen?
  2. Wow -- so many replies to such a great question I asked! As far as the included "glow" function goes, is there a way to change the color? I'm only getting more white. The "Outline" item did it really well. Is anyone ready to create the "stroke" plugin yet? How about the inner glow versus outer glow? You guys are on the right track (yay, and more support for these things).

  6. I would also like to see this feature native or as a plugin to PDN. Thanks!
  7. I'm having trouble locating one. I found one that let's me do an outline and a bevel and a feather. But it's still not doing quite what I want. Is there a way to "expand" the selection slightly? This would allow it to do what I want. Thanks for your continued assistance.

  11. There's a feature in photoshop that I used all the time, and I cannot find an equivalent in PDN. I would add a "stroke" to a text layer, which would outline (with varying degrees of transparency) the text only with whichever color or texture I selected. Mostly, I am concerned with color. I want to be able to have white text that is outlined in black (most often) so that it pops from the rest. The outline function is not doing this to a satisfying result. How can I make this happen? Thanks for your help. Adam
