  1. Well-- its installed, I`ve been trying it out thank you for your help. I must be jinxed or something for I always do things back to front. One problem with copying to disc for backup with the password so it didn`t get copied. Heres hoping I can access this forum next time the thing crashes out.
  2. So if it`s not this website that has the answers to trying to get paint.net to work - where am I going wrong. Why do you have a forum that includes trouble shooting installation problems on this website.?????
  3. Re previous post, I found the way to change preferences, it now goes to internet explorer - open or save--- save gives low on memory and its in the computer anyway -- open seems to loop. If I knew what should happen I might be able to sort it. I don`t think I need to reinstall. How many folders are relevent in the prefetch folder? How many different files are there to be downloaded And just a thought- is there anywhere where modules can be downloaded one by one complete with tutorial and get to know the system worksheet?
  4. Before I do could you explain what the prefetch folder is, what I`m looking for to uninstall before I redownload and where I will find it? Do I have to reinstall the service pack? Can I find the program to download on the Microsoft or windows live sites rather than going to 3rd party Does the passport.net (which I don`t understand) make things any easier or is it totally irrelevant and just popped up coincidentally.
  5. PAINT.NET on the shortcut paint.net.3.36.exe-02b6d693 on search
  6. Trying for download of Paint.net, I think I have both service pack and paintnet but I`m not sure. When I tried to open it, thinking I would like to open the program from the paint program I (wrongly I now realise) clicked the open with paint option. Now I cannot open it from the shortcut, if indeed the program is there, and cannot work out how to change back to open from IEx.
