  1. Well, the clouds didn't really give the "rust"-sorta feeling on the roadsign. I suggest some frosted glass, or noise. Plus, the roadsign shouldn't be so transpararent. The water and cliff look good, except it needs a little more depth, so I think adding a few shadows where the cliff and water meet would give it that last touch. It looks good though. There's not that much work to be done to have your finished product.

  5. I forgot about this thread. I made my go at it real quick. Good for making quick abstract pieces. Here is my beautiful masterpiece =P
  6. I was looking for something like this... Thanks, bud.
  7. That waterfall is great--the flow of the actual water is perfect, and the foliage was done in a very artistic manner that I really like. I would desktop-wallpaper that =P @yellowman: I love your "summer" too. It also has that artistic vibe-thing to it. The only thing I want to point out are the coconuts. One is placed as if it were sorta floating in the air. It's obviously so minor it doesn't matter, but I'm only pointing it out if you hadn't noticed and didn't like it. Anyway, great job. I'm so jealous of both of you, lol.
  8. There are many ways to achieve the same effect- outline object, layer blending modes, the "glow" effect (along with other steps), but it's an ok tutorial. I suggest adding a last "sharpen" effect at the end (maybe repeating it a couple of times) since it sorta does turn out on the blurry side.
  9. I left where I saved my finished work on another computer! Sheesh! It won't be in the box o' outcomes anymore! *sobs* (at least for, like, a couple of more hours... but ah! *sobs more*) EDIT: I got so sad, I redid it using the same render. Here it is:
  10. Wow, I really like that. Grunge-like and cool. Good job. @Others: Thanks for the feedback, guys.
  11. Yeah, definitely. And don't you think the front page should be made more artsy/more paint.net-esque? I mean, it should show what the program can do, right? (Just a suggestion)
  12. Yep, refer to "Seamless Texture Maker", "Weave", "Textile", "Lattice", and other ones of the same sorta thing. You can always find a stock of a velvet background and stuff too. There are some websites dedicated to giving free textures (though the ones I may provide are a bit more "grunge"-like): cgtextures.com, urbandirty.com, and bashcorpo.dk/textures.php are just a couple.
  13. Sorta went a different route. Looks cool, right?
  14. Is UnFREEz the only kind of okay free GIF Animator around right now?
  15. Ok Simon. I apologize: Sorry for coming off a little rude in the first post. (Oh, and by the way, I'm a girl.) =P Maybe I should write in pink? Nah.
  16. Ah geez. Never mind that I helped you... just gotta yell at the kitty. If it makes you feel any better, I meant don't ask for people to do the work for you. Ask for the strategies and ways you can learn to make your work better.
  17. Look. There are many font websites. dafont.com is my personal favorite. Look under the top 100 fonts or choose from one of the submenus' themes. If you want my suggestion, go under the "Eroded", "Distorted", "Handwritten", or "Graffiti" submenus and download a font you like. You can simply use the text tool in the program your using (after downloading the font, of course) and write PARADISE or whatever on a transparent background. Save, and you have your banner. Please don't come to this forum asking for such things again.
  18. Wow, I like it a lot--it's like the paintings I have around my house. The house definitely looks better. EDIT: My crapterpiece:
  19. Maybe someone stole it? There are some real blood-donor lunatics out there you know. Trying to the the right thing and all... *shivers* I can't even imagine a world like that.
  20. You could mess with the transparency of the layers. First, paste your images into different layers. Put the one you want everything else blended into at the bottom. Double click on the layers on top that contain the image(s) you want to blend, and then play with the transparency. Look at the different layer blend modes too, surprises await you. (Why the sudden mood change? I just found out some one ate my Thin Mints)
  21. Wow. You know, if you make the background just tiny, tiny bit darker, it would be a 10/10. I like it a lot. *jealous* Well, maybe I should try the tutorial myself... Current status: lazy :?
  22. @Divines Well, you started out with a blue background as compared to your render that's red (-ish). This creates a little aesthetic conflict. It doesn't look right. Maybe if you also make other layers with your render pasted in and blur it/frosted glass/zoom/[insert other effects here]? I, myself, am having trouble with my render. It looks out of place. It's like "Ooooo, splatter, splatter! Wait, a pair of cats? What the hell?" Any help? Thanks, guys.
  23. @Impact Finale: I like them. I would suggest blending the text a little bit more with the background or choosing a completely different font. Look good! Better than the one I've conjured up for sure. @ExUmbris: Really good, foo. I don't have anything to say. I probably shouldn't be one to judge anyway, but since no one else has left a comment, why not? @Deckstar: I like the whole concept. It's cool. The picture is good, too. I'm thinking maybe the background needs a little extra? No idea. Here is mine. Enjoy. Image
