i got the desired effect i wanted. although it was not due to the help on these forums, just experimenting more as i learned how to use all the tools. thank you though, for your help regardless above people.

hey is was just wondering if my thread was confusing because i don't have enough replies to get the effect i wanted. this is what i want mine to look like:

yes the motion blur but can't figure out how to just blur the area between the yellow needles and just that area only and a difference between the two layers or something. But yes I tried it, but the rest of the tach was blurred to and looked like .

I want to achieve a cool looking tach blur like this stock image. I have seen these in newsprint car ads, etc These are all the images I have made so far (just signatures) I have been using paint.net for about 2 weeks now.I have looked at the blur faq, tried to do blending, radial blur but it just did'nt turn out or I had no clue what I was doing to get the desired effect. I took two photos one with the tach at 6krpm and another with it at 7.5krpm . As much I was able to do was to line up the two layers pretty much as well as I could.
