  1. Ok, first, I am sorry if this has been asked and answered (god, is that not the worst first line EVER! ). I have an outline font that I like "bored school boys". It is an outline text. I am trying to apply a gradient to the inside of it. The best i have been able to do is get the outline to change colors. There are some gaps in the text, so I realize I might have to make them connect, which is no problem, but I can't seem to get a gradient within the text. I have looked at a couple of tuts, but that just seems to apply them to the outline. I have done an alpha mask, tried selecting the text and deleting the gradient from the above layer, but it only seems to apply to the outline. Do I need to fill in the text with black and then apply the gradient? Many thanks appreciated. I hope I did this correctly. Some of you scare me with posting things in the wrong places/not searching enough.
  2. Thank you!!! Wow, that is really easy, now that you told me how to do it! :o Thanks again, I can't wait to follow the rest of the steps.
  3. Thanks everyone for the great advice! I will keep playing around with PDN and I will make sure to hit up all the tuts! They have been great so far. Thanks again.
  4. I have playing around with paint.net of the last month or so and I have a couple of questions. I tried to search for the answers and didn't find anything, so I hope I am not being "that" person asking a question that has been asked many of times. But i am really interested in becoming more versed in Paint. Would you suggest playing around with some of the tuts (which I have done for the most part) or is there something I can read that would help me learn? I have looked at most of the basic guides - but sometimes feel like I am struggling with things everyone else has complete grasp of. How did everyone else learn? I am all about learning, not trying to get away from the work, just trying to be the most efficient. Any insight on how you got where you are would be appreciated (ash, jake2k, david.atwell, etc.). Thanks for the help. Again, I apologize if this has been asked and answered, I did try to search, but wasn't particularly fruitful. Thanks!!! BTW, Thank you Paint.net, I am in love with this site, and will recommend to many others!
  5. Ok. First, let me say this is my first post. Second, thank you paint.net, I have learned SOO much. The issue I am having is surely basic, but I dont know how to repeat gradient? I have tried to do different layers, lighten, etc. But it doesn't seem to work. I know that a lot of times when you use a tool, it allows you to repeat the tool. But I am not finding this for gradient. Thanks for any help, I appreciate it.
