Yeah, I know it's paint.net it's smiliar to photoshop - related isn't it? Anyway, i'm looking for how to do the background. Not blending images? Or can it be used to design the background too?

I've been trying to search, but can't find any related topics for a while. I'm really new to photoshop, so i need your help. for example, a picture like this: the patterns in the foreground. Or, this picture: where the background is really nice. Can someone teach me? Or guide me to a tutorial? I haven't been able to find such tutorials or help.
