Thankyou for your reply,but i'm a total noob to this & nothing happens when i try & make a text icon say for Paint.NET.Do i need to hit an icon under 'Tools' first or click on something in the main menu. I open the .psd as above, click on Layers & type a P but nothing happens.Please be more specific with exact instructions from scratch. many thanks.

Ok,sorry,maybe i wasn't explaining properly. I'd like to make my own text icons for RocketDock or ObjectDock like these,with the .psd file in Paint.NET.The makeyourownfile you see is the one opened up in Paint.NET that shows 'Trash Full'. I want to make my own by changing the text say,to FIREFOX BROWSER or EMULE P2P etc for example.

Nobody from Paint.NET able to help me on this?

Hi, I've installed a photoshop plug-in so i can edit psd files but as i'm only able to do basics(like changing icon colours) with this great software,i don't know what to do.I'd like to make some custom text icons for RocketDock using the psd in the screenshot.Any step by step advice or direction to an easy to follow tutorial would be appreciated.As an example,Paint.NET icon would be: PAINT.NET(in white on top) GRAPHIC(in the grey below) Thanks.
