When I open it It starts a whole new image though?

OK I am cutting out a render and need help for two things.When I have outlined the figure and cut it it only cut's out the fingers?But when I cut another image ,it cut, but The line where I traced it still showed?Can somebody help me? Ok I got a render from Planet Renders.But how do I cut out the figure?http://planetrenders.net/renders/displayimage.php?pid=11265&fullsize=1 I'm using that and when I get magic wand and hit Ctrl+I Nothing happens
