At home I tend to install all updated as soon as they are released and I'm reasonably sure they won't break anything. At work, however, installing huge updates on many computers requires a lot of time. For example, XP SP3 will probably require two hours for each machine, which are two wasted hours. So, basically the reason why we still use XP SP2 is the lack of time to install SP3. I evangelized all colleagues to use Paint.NET, so that would be a good reason to finally install SP3.
