  1. If you want the people more of white figures or more of just one color cut out the person your using, put them on their own layer, use the silhouette effect effects>object>silhouette (may have been in a plug in i dont recall) and do whichever color you want, then once you get the color you want adjust the opacity of that layer and youll have a ghostly figure, that may be what your looking for if not,i tried lol

  2. looks pretty awesome, nice work.Something tells me that if you tweaked the opacity and had multiple layers of it and used some blurs, you could make smoke out of the same idea your using there.May be something you wanna try out and see if you can do it.

  3. Welcome to PDN!

It looks like a good attempt, but first you need to keep this in the appropriate topic, maybe reply it to the tutorial you used or start your own gallery. There's many different things you have to get used to here on the forums, and by reading the following will prevent you from getting your posts locked or deleted and make your stay a lot easier here. Not trying to be rude,im actually trying to help, because if i didn't say this, theres many others that would have.So please read

  5. Also if you want to make it in a certain shape or to have more control of the beams, make the shape then use motion blur in the direction you want the beams from and use the desired distance.

Using motion blur will make the image your motion blurring more faint though so to make it more dense duplicate the layer that the motion blur is on as many times as needed to get the effect you want. After doing this, closer to the object your blurring may look too dense where as the farther away it gets more faint, simply erase parts that are dense on a few layers to thin them out. Also to give it a more in depth look each layer you duplicate to make it more dense you can adjust the opacity to give it a more realistic look.

Also after you have done the above and have it how you want, but decide you want your beams with a bit of color, duplicate the same initial layer you have been to make the beams before, but before you motion blur, use the silhouette tool

    effects>object>silhouette

and make it the color you want. Then use motion blur and continue with all the steps above. If you wish to have both white and a color and not have them overlap, drag your colored layer down just alittle bit enough to bring out both colors but not enough to seperate the flow of the beam.

Its hard to explain, and im sure sometime i'll get around to makeing a tutorial with the way i came up with, but until then maybe you can stumble around with what i just mentioned and see if you get what i mean.

You can see a small example of this in the 3rd sig in my gallery.

    Good Luck!

  6. I don't think its exactly a halt,i think Rick is just taking time to get things in order and making it the best it can be before the new release.Instead of making a new little release every time theres a small update,he is probably just going to release it all at once.

PDN is a solid enough program to not need constant updates and with all the plug-ins you can download, technically PDN gets new features often.

  7. Well plug-ins are basically add ons. They can be new blurs, renders, really anything someone wants to code and add to the program.,some prove useful and some end up not being used, but these plug-ins keep things evolving and sometimes will add just what you need to get the job done.

Also, this area is for publishing the plug-ins only, hence the (Plug-ins-Publishing Only) posted with the thread. Please familiarize yourself with the rules before posting or this topic can be locked deleted,or they may just move it,but to make it easier for you and other users please read

Welcome to PDN forums and happy posting!

  8. Got some decent looking stuff, very abstract feeling.

I know your new here,so first, welcome to the PDN forums! As a member here you do have to familiarize yourself with the rules and if you would like to use this topic as your gallery, name it something like "HJK187's Gallery" something a bit more detailed to make it easier for users to browse. Also you may want to consider posting clickable thumbnails linked to the full size picture instead of posting the full size images.Things like this will help you keep a clean gallery, make it easier for others, and keep you from getting your posts deleted or locked.

Give these a good read and again welcome to the PDN forums!

  9. Hi welcome to the PDN forums. The 2 pieces you have here do show potential and the fact that you made anything shows that you have potential if you keep working at it and learning.

First,to be a participating member here in the forums you must cover your bases.I know your new here but now more than ever i suggest you give the rules of the forum a good read, primarily number 6.

    Rules

    http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3446

Failure to abide by the rules can have your posts locked, removed or your account deleted (in more extreme cases).Just trying to help you have a smooth and productive stay here at the forums. If i didn't post this warning someone else would have, nothing personal.

Hope to see you around the forums

    Happy posting!

  10. thanks for your reply im really glad you like it,I'm not sure im ready to tackle making a tutorial quite yet but it is something for me to keep in mind for the future.A tip i could give you for creating the light rays is to use motion blur from where you want the rays and in the color you want them and motion blur it in the direction you want the rays and the desired distance and do that on multiple layers with varied opacity to give it that shine transparency, also if you look i used some blue as well which i did the same thing but moved it a bit down and used less layers with the opacity fairly low, then since you have multiple layers you have made with the motion blur at different opacity, you can go back and erase parts off of layers that look too dense and not the desired effect.I will keep in mind posting a tutorial but im hoping this may give you an idea to play around with to try it out until i decide to tackle my first tut.
