Actually, I used Tile Reflection on purpose. I was trying to get the appearance of a glass top table. I felt it made the reflection on the table make more sense. I wasn't trying to duplicate yours or the original. I could tell that you used clouds. I also believe the original was done with a splinter blur. I was looking for something a little different.

Thanks. The funny thing is, I don't even think the first pic I used was actually Edward. I'm not sure, but I think it is Robert Pattinson from a different film entirely. That was the big reason I used a different pic the second time. Also, the color of the gradient is because of the topaz colored eyes that is supposed to be the trademark of the Cullen family. I don't know... I might look into playing with the color some more.

@Kemaru: That is really beautiful. I'm not sure about the distortion (dents?) on the colored half of the picture. I agree that it probably needs something there, but I don't really care for this particular effect for this pic. It is really beautiful, though. So, my 2 year old got a hold of my twilight pic, causing a complete loss of the pdn file. I had to start over from scratch, (this time with a different Edward pic in back). I did play with the contrast and glow, as was suggested, and I also made the background pic black and white, as well as changing the background color (all black was just too dark, even for a vamp pic). Let me know what ya think. I haven't read the books, so I don't really know what might be missing. Any suggestions are welcome.

@cherryvamp: Very cool I love this picture. It is absolutely perfect for this kind of effect. Parts of the pic are a bit :AntiAliasingOff: , but other than that, it looks really good.

@patriotsman: First pic: Very cool. I love this effect. I would probably crop out the right hand side, if it were me. I think that it looses a little bit of the effect with the black edge, but other than that it is really great work. Second pic: That is extremely disturbing, but very, very cool. I'm not sure what else to say. That smiley face may give me nightmares. :shock: Nice work. I'm not really sure if this goes here, but I am working on this for a friend, and I really need some constructive criticism or suggestions. She is a huge Twilight fan, and I want to make sure it's as good as I can make it.

Here's what I came up with. I'm not sure what happened with the chips, though. For some reason they don't really look like they are sitting on the table. I will have to do some work on this. EDIT: So, after a bit of work, this is what I came up with. I'm still not sure that I am happy with it, but I think it is a lot better than the last one. I love how much I have learned with this tutorial. I am learning so much about the Shapes3D plugin. I had no idea it could be used in so many ways. I am fairly new to PDN, so I've been working on a lot of these tuts. It's nice to find one that is so easy to follow. Here's what I came up with: After reading through the discussion, I also thought I would try a moonrise using the basic concepts here.

Here's my go at it. It's a work in progress. I'm still trying to get to know the software, so I'm sure I'll be able to do more with it eventually. Great tut Ash. Very easy to follow.

Love this tutorial. I'm not very good with the lasso tool, and I'm still trying to figure out a lot of the features, so this probably took me way longer than necessary, but it was a lot of fun. Great job.

Go to the Window Menu and open your layer's windown. You should see a layer with just the black box drawn on it. Use your Magic Wand Tool on that layer to select the black box. Now, on your layer window, select the bottom layer with your full picture. Hit [Ctrl + I] to invert your selection, (or choose the Invert Selection option from the Edit Menu) and then hit delete. This should get you where you need to be.

This tut is so cool. I have only had this program for a couple of weeks, and I just found to forum a couple of days ago. I had never seen this sig before, but thought the effects were pretty cool, so I gave it a shot. I altered my colors and text style (which isn't nearly as cool) to give a bit of a personal touch. I really had fun with this.

This is a very cool technique. I don't feel like I have it quite right yet, but I was amazed how fast and easy it was once I got started. I completely lost track of how many layers I put in. Very simple and neat technique.
