Is there I way I can make the background all black if I took a protrait type picture? I am going for the effect of a black and white portrait shot but I want the background pitch black. Thanks.

I have been trying and trying to create a signature to put on a blog. I have successfully made one and put it on bu tI can't seem to get it translucent, it just shows up as a white box with the signature in it. I have "translucent" checked in the "window" column. What am I doing wrong or not doing? Thanks, Nicole
