Hi guys, I was searching on the net for a tutorial or even Paint.net plugin for a bottom shadow effect and gladly found a tutorial for it using Photoshop here I am much a user of Paint.NET (simplicity) and would desire a turorial for PDN and even better a plugin written that could render this for PDN (Paint.NET) In particular different types of bottom shadows too Thanks for reading.

Well no I wouldn't want it on the dropdown.... Although I did already thought about it perhaps being placed on the thumbnail drop-down. Reason I would like it on the tab bar is for when I am saving and closing each file, I need to instantly see the remaining number of images opened without further clicking on something (efficiency).

This feature would be of great use to me especially when PDN's image file tab bar reaches more than 6 images and I quickly need to see how many images I opened (in case I forgot). What is anyone's thoughts on this feature idea. Is there anyone else that would have any use for a 'counter'. Agree or disagree... I read the forum rule #25 on post bumping and it had been more than 24hrs and I'm only bumping once.

The inference was made from when you wrote "It'll also quit, but hey ...". So I assumed that you thought that the feature was unworthy. Good suggestion but sorry it won't be good enough for other multi-image purposes. I'm not knocking the 'layer' feature at all, as I still use it a lot in my other image edits. Also think about other instances where I would require a 'Save All' like for further example at times when I am editing 5-10 images that are each or some in different folder directories. Sometimes each image is of varying dimensions, file size or even transparency and I would like to maintain that when saving them to disk in a save all. The 'save all' feature would simply do just that, with a single button/menu, and save all images without closing the entire program or the images opened itself. It's so useful on existing MDI applications like Notepad++ and Firefox. After clicking on a 'save all' then there should be an option to use or not use the 'save configuration' setting. The only issue I just thought of on my feature request is when multiple images are opened without being saved for the first time (no file-type, just image on canvas). This is where it would get confusing because another option after hittin' 'save all' would be needed to be able to save all to the same or each individual image format. Maybe a forced 'saved configuration' window in this instance giving this extended capability. However, I am currently only interested in established image file formats that have been loaded into PDN. So for the aforementioned issue I just brought up, perhaps the 'save all' could be greyed out on that. Perhaps.

No that's not sufficient enough. Firstly, I don't want to end the whole program session and secondly I don't want to keep having the 'save configuration' window popping up for each consecutive save. Why do you dislike the suggestion of a 'save all' button/menu?

Obviously when you have finished editing each and every image file and wish to Save AND Close all images at the time rather than doing each individually. You see today I needed to edit 300 simultaneous JPG files (I loaded 50 per time into PDN) each JPG files made up a image frame as to make back into video or animated gif. When I had finished editing each of the 50 files I loaded I wanted to 'save all' then 'close all' at one time. It would have made my work much more quicker.

Hi again, In addition to my other related request of a 'Save All' feature here. I would also like to request a 'tab counter' sort of feature like Firefox's addon but for PDN for when during I'm working with lots of image files in PDN esp. over 60 image files concurrently. I would much suggest that if added it should display on the image tab bar and not within that image-drop down menu since I would prefer to actively 'see' how many images I have left in a multi session rather than clicking a drop down menu (cpu memory usage) especially in between saving each image. I would greatly appreciate this feature if added in PDN Thanks in advance.

Hi, I would like to have a Save ALL feature in Paint.NET. It is already wonderful how I could open multiple image files at the same time and work with all by switch between each of them. I understand that before a JPG or PNG finally written to disk, after hitting 'save', that a second prompt window appears to configure the image settings bit depth, quality etc. So for that I would like an option just to skip the quality settings when saving all as most times I keep the same quality as when the images was imported. I'm using both PDN 3.36 and 3.55 Any comments.

Hi, As the title of this topic states I would like to know if there is specifications available for the paint.ent format .pdn Im helping a developer of an image viewing app on Windows and Im seeking to get support for PDN (the first layer) just like how PhotoShop .psd Please if you can Mr Brewster or anyone knowledgeable?

Guys you got the wrong end of the stick as the expression goes. I meant how to draw the document icon image with all the shadows and stuffs. Both a standard document icon image and or a intuitive curved design document icon image like the one I posted above. I never worry with the .ICO as I do all my saving in PDN to PNG and then use Axialis to convert to a Windows icon, so I am not talking about saving to an icon image at all. Remember I meant on how to draw that image Perhaps I could rename the topic remving the word "icon"

I would like if someone could share their knowledge on how to make the image of a document in Paint.NET which is a present background image that many applications have included on their filetype icons. A standard one like this (below) or..... ...to make a rounded one like this? Document-256x256_Deleket (Jojo Mendoza) I use Axialis IconWorkshop to convert images to icons, so it's just the initial image i am trying to make. I dont need to know about saving to .ico in PDN.

Hi, Bravely I tried to replicate this tutorial aimed at Photoshop users in my own Paint.NET. http://psd.tutsplus.com/drawing/illustr ... photoshop/ Unfortunately when I came to Step 6, things came to a halt lol as there is no Pen Tool within Paint.NET. Yes of course we can render trainagle shapes well in PDN with such effects as Polygon and Rectangle Polygon but I had no clue on how to manipulate the rendered triangle to bend the shape inwards and outwards. Thought I could use a photoshop tut paint.net - yeah, was only trying. If anyone could help on a suitable tutorial on how to create a traffic cone like this, with a Paint.NET, that would be helpful.

Simon , I looked at your uploaded image tutorial and have followed your instructions but I have to say this does not seem practical for when making skins and can create a lot of unwatsted time. Take a look at these image I further snapped: PhotoFiltre - displaying all four codes (10,10 103,78) http://i39.tinypic.com/21didua.png Paint.NET with the first x1,y1 code (of 10,10) http://i40.tinypic.com/4tuky0.png Paint.NET with the attempted x2,y2 code (of 103,78) http://i41.tinypic.com/10wi7ly.png ..with moving the selection to bottom left as exact as you mentioned Although your quick fix may just do the trick for now, it does not seem time efficient to the least extent. I still have to thank you for taking your time to come with a current work around for this. I still propose if Paint.NET can add the display of the other two coordiantes - if possible as a menu option to enable/disable - this way this option would not interfere with the default coordinate display that the developer has for desire

OK the selection shapes thingy is not possible. What about a fix on suggestion #4 - I know this is possible

+1 I fully agree with this suggestion as I have alreayd suggested it here recently viewtopic.php?f=12&t=29590 Users should be given a 'prompt' that they must restart PDN in order for the plugin addition or removal to take effect in the program.

#3 - So how do you make custom shapes (triangle, rectangle, octagons) for the selection tool to be able to save them for use in the 'tools' window?? #4 - Yes I know x1,y1 is there in Paint.NET as fine. But waht about x2,y2 ??? Take a look at this image I snapped of doing a selection in Paint.NET against PhotoFiltre (click on it) Can you see the other two numbers in PhotoFiltre as "34, 362" where are these in Paint.NET as these are crucial for my application skin making, I'm trying to bin PF in exhcnage for the more powerful Paint.NET Please help me into whether this already exists on PDN or if it could be added as an optional show for next/future version? Please forgive my haste :o

Well thanks, I thought that it would open the effects folder within a Paint.NET window allowing us to add,remove, inpect plugin files... Anyway guess back to manual windows explorer

Add a open 'Effects' folder in Paint.NET menu Very handy for new users, plsu I use a virtualized version of Paint.NET so navigating manually to program files/paint .net/effect can be really slow at times. I think a small menu button or menu item in the drop down to open this folder directly would be nice

Hi guys, I hope this is the right section to make such suggestion for a plugin. I searched the forum but could not find anything, so if in wrong section lemme know rather than deletion I use to use this application called Passport Photo http://onthegosoft.com/passport_photo.htm I take my own ID photo's of myself with my own camera and right specific criteria for whatever cause the photo is to be used for. What I liked about Passport Photo is it's choice of regional size specifications (US photo size, UK, candian and more) and the way it can render print ready passport size photo's. The latest version of this application supports transparent text overlays, although I have not used this myself.. Of course we can already do all the resize and stuffs in paint.net since beginning but I am suggesting a user friendly dialog method with preset sizes to each region AND with a selection tool for headshots A reproduced plugin like this Passport Photo app would make a great addition to Paint.NET. I mean has this ever been discussed or thought of before?

Please could anyone tell me if this has been considered, or has made it alreayd even for Paint.NET 4.0??
