  1. Miss Betsy is adorable. You've added so much stuff since the last time I was here. You've gotten better and better, makes me jealous. :x
  2. The hummingbird is beautiful. I have to say, I like the lomo idea too.. I created a new layer, did a lomo over it, with exposure set to 0. Selected the white center, used transparency on it, then set the layer opacity to 185.
  3. Yummy cookies and tea. You've got yourself a deal Oma. Thanks for your comments! I know its been awhile, haven't had a lot of creativeness lately. I've been messing around with pictures lately more than creating. Part of the problem is I never really set out to make anything in particular and just come across it in my playing. Maybe I'll post a few of the pics that I've been playing with. Moving to first post
  4. Thanks Helen. I wish I cold remember how I got it. I know I could probably do it way easier than I did though, as I stumbled upon it while playing with something completely different. I think I need to do a little touch up on the top edge where the two pieces meet though.
  5. Try duplicating your pink layer. It'll make the color more vibrant.
  6. That looks better, the grapes on the right are still oddly darker from the rest of them. But now it looks more like its darker on the sides from the leaves.
  7. Thanks welshblue. I was feeling Christmasy that day. As far as the other stuff, I really hate some of it now. lol
  8. The grapes are cute. The look a bit odd at the top though. They're a lot darker than the rest of the grapes. Were you trying to simulate the leaves casting shadow on them?
  9. Thanks. I made it with a tut then added some stuff to it. Mine's on the 23rd, so I guess you're exactly a year and 20 days older than me. lol Kinda weird.
  10. I rarely do myself, but they give you interesting ideas, and most of them are simple images for quick effects. Such as the snowflakes. Saved me some time and gave me some sleep. As far as the age, I dunno, I turned 22 last August.
  11. I decided to add mine as well. This is a great tut, though I did get a bit lost at one point. I've always made my glowy lines a bit differently, so I mixed your way and my way. I also added a second set of glow. I also tried to make it look as if he was moving. Anyway, I slapped him into a new background too.
  12. Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! The snowflakes are from the custom brushes plugin. I downloaded it separately than the plugin itself... so I guess its an plugin for an plugin? You can find the custom brushes plugin here: here. And the brushes for it can be found here. As far as any tips, I'm not sure I could offer any really. I usually just kind of stumble upon most of the stuff I end up with. lol I used Shape3D for the bulbs. The text is pretty simple. I made three different colored layers for the names, blurred the bottom layer at the standard zoom blur setting twice, and used drop shadow, on the second I used zoom blur once, then drop shadow. Then used Conditional Hue/Saturation on the top layer. I'm pretty sure I used the standard settings for drop shadow as well. I also used shape3d for the names to make them look slightly wrapped around the bulbs. I drew the string and bow with the line tool. The ribbon, is simply filled in line with a goldish color, then a transparent gradient on top to give it some shine. I did the same with the bulb tops. For the background, I started with white, slapped the snowflakes on, then put a new layer of a very transparent light gray. Then for the "crinkles" in the paper, I used more transparent gradient. Also to get the desired effect for the bulbs, I used a gradient with the secondary color set to transparent, and the primary to what I wanted, then I used bulge a few times with the direction set off to one side. Then Shape3D. I actually saved the settings, so If you're interested in that, let me know. Its probably more than you wanted to know, but I guess you can pick your tips from within that jumbled mess somehow. I also resized and moved things accordingly with the rotate/zoom tool.
  13. I finally got a chance to look at your gallery. Your stuff is great. I really like the goldfish, makes me wanna eat him! I really like the lady bugs too. Typos are evil. Somehow I managed to completely miss a sentence. Its now more coherent!
  14. Your stuff is great. You definitely use a variety of colors. I've started with stuff like that and usually end up thinking it looks horrible but you've done such a great job of it! Your crystal ball looks amazing.
  15. You've done a great job with the tuts. Your exploding planet looks way better than the one I made. It didn't turn out well at all. Anyway! I look forward to seeing more things from you
  16. It's really nice LFC. Some of the effects people use and end up with are pretty complicated. Your's is pretty simplistic, and it still turns out awesome.
  17. There is a link to the brush download, and then a link to the thread that explains how to convert the PS brushes to PDN. The brush ishere. And the thread that tells you how to convert is here.
  18. Yay to LFC for making the tut! Here's mine with a little more glow, layering, and feathering. Here's a second one that I made a little more pastel I suppose you could say. Thanks LFC
  19. Nice sigs. I especially like the Naruto sig. Did you use stock photos or did you render them yourself? Either way you did a nice job.
  20. Removed! Reorganizing and moving everything to the first page.
  21. Well I gave you some, and you gave it no acknowledgment, so possibly thats why? One thing I noticed is people like to be acknowledge on this board. If you're not, what's the point in posting? And other times people look, but don't really want to say the same thing that's already been said, so they see no point in replying because there's simply nothing they have to offer other than "nice gallery"
