Hehe, first off, sorry for the double post But haven't really been active these past months, other than the occassional lurking around the forums ^^ Think I'm gonna be able to find time for some more Paint.Net in the time to come, but back on track: Uploaded 3 new pictures, at the bottom of the thread, and also, I've gone over to Photobucket, as I find it easier to manage than ImageShack

I've also got this bug, and I use Opera as my browser. I've also made a thread about it, but couldn't come up with a solution there. Think someone also tested FireFox without experiencing the bug. What operating system are you running? I've got "Windows Vista Home Premium" 64-bits.

Thanks for the help BoltBait, though too bad it seems it's an 'impossible to fix' problem :? Though, while I read the thread you linked to, I just remembered one kinda obvious thing. I could always try to copy the layers I want to merge into a new picture, and then just merge them there.

Oh, and if anyone of you experiences a problem like this again, you could try this: Simply move half of all your fonts to another folder, and then start Paint.Net to see if it works now. If it does, it's because the bad font(s) is one or some of the fonts you moved. If it doesn't, it means that you've got at least 1 bugged font left in that directory. Then you simply follow the same routine, and move half of the remaining fonts. This could be a time-taking method if you have several bad fonts, but I ensure you it will work :wink:

I don't mean that the above layer's properties should replace the bottom layer's properties, but here's one way of telling it: I've found a solution around this, which is simply to merge layer 2 down to the bottom first, and then merge layer 3 down. Though, I can't always use this, as I sometimes need all my layers. Alternatively, I could let it be a layer by itself, but some times this can cause problems for me when I edit some of the other layers. Though it's not too big of a problem, but I just thought I'd report it.

Only way I can think of, would be to add 1 new font at a time, then start up Paint.Net and check if it works. Though, there's a lot of more professional people than me on these boards, so they might come up with a better answer :wink:

I'm not sure if this can help you, but if you saved it as a default image filetype (For example jpg, jpeg or png). Then your picture may have a preview thumbnail, and if so you could try to open it up in the Windows Picture Viewer and use the print screen function.

When I work with images, I often tend to use the blend modes in the layer's properties to make some nice effects, though there's a small glitch with it. Whenever I apply some blend mode, and then merge the layer down to the one below, it resets as if there was no blend mode on it. This always happens, unless if it's the bottom layer I merge it to. I'm not sure if this only effects the blend mode, or if it has an effect on the layer's transparancy too.

Man, you should've known just how many times I've wished for this feature I'll just hope it will be implemented one day, if not soon Edit: Bah, I just read BoltBait's reply towards this Oh well, nice while the dream lasted Also, I've an idea of my own. How about dockable tool windows? I've often found to my frustration, that when I have to zoom closely in on pictures, the windows always tends to be in my way. And usually I need them for what I do while zoomed down, so no use in trying to disable them either, so I believe this would be a highly appreciated feature for Paint.Net :wink:

There's several ways to do this, but the easiest way to do this gotta be this: Simply cover the whole canvas with a selection tool, and press delete, and there you've got your transparent background 8)

Actually, I didn't make the pencil, nor the eraser :oops: I was lazy at the time so I just decided to search up on google to find it Just a simple blur, maybe some minor editing for the pencil, but the eraser was more of a hazzle. Didn't knew it was such hard work to find pictures of erasers, so had to tweak it some And about the letters, do you mean my signature or the last picture of the post? I think I can try to convert it for you, just give me a little time and I'll give you the results [Work in Progress]: Header with "Tech-Look": Translated from PhotoShop, by request: First, start up with a new image, with the size which best fits your purpose. After that, choose the color you'd like to use as a base. Choose the color as your primary clor, and choose a lighter/darker variation of it as your secondary color. Select the , then select the option for it, and start creating the gradient in the middle of your image. (Hold shift while doing the last step to make it perfectly horizontal). Next up, create a new layer, and select the . Mark up a circle in the middle of the image, choose "subtract" as your selection mode, and create a smaller circle in your first one. After that, choose the , still with "subtract" as your selection mode, and make a thick line throughout the middle of the circles. Alternatively, after making the first circle, you can subtract an egg-shaped circle from the first one. Then you'll end up with this: Next, fill the selections with white, using the :PaintBucketTool:. If the selections are very rough, you can use one of the blur effects to smoothen it a little. If you want it to be as perfect as possible, you can use the "Align Object" plugin to center the circle in the middle of the picture. Then, duplicate this layer and resize it. Place it close to where you want your link to be, and select the :LineCurveTool: with 1 pixel width. Make some similar lines to this, on a new layer.

I just did some more investigating, and found some unexpected answers :S After reading your post, I decided to try to change browser, as I use Opera. When I copied/pasted pictures from Internet Explorer 7, it worked fine, but the problem still occured when I tried to do it from Opera. I tested the same pictures from both Opera and Internet Explorer 7, and I also tried with .jpg's, .gifs and .bmp's, all with the same result. Not sure if the problem is on the Opera side or Paint.Net. If someone got FireFox they could try this too. Update: After reading the other related thread, I decided to try to paste from Opera to Paint, which worked fine without problems. I guess that proves the problem is on the Paint.Net side. Also, the problem mentioned in the other problem includes pictures taken with "Print Screen". Also, I could experience the same problem when pasting from "Print Screen".

Thanks for quick reply By the way, I think I first noticed the bug appearing either with the release of Pdn 1.3 or a later version of it. So most likely it's a recent change in the program that causes that little glitch.

Whenever I paste a picture from the internet, a few pixels on the left side of the screen copies over to the right side. It always occurs after pasting from internet, though not when pasting from a file. This covers the whole height, but not quite sure how it is with width, but it's about 2-4 pixels. P.s: - Otherwise Paint.Net owns! The best graphics editor I've used by far
