  1. Thanks Ash - Had something to eat, so my brain's working again! Impressive sig. How much does it weigh?
  2. I keep reading where a thread or board is 'Publishing Only'. I'm sure it should be obvious, but my blood sugar is probably low, 'cause I still need an explanation. Can someone oblige, please, in ten words or less? Thanks awfully!
  3. Yes - I promise, hand on heart that I'll check out the FAQs and do a search before I bother anyone else. (Like your sig, by the way - but this is the wrong thread for that...)
  4. Thanks for the advice, all. I'll be back shortly, begging for more information, once I've got the prog up and running. Just you see! :?
  5. It's Windows XP, not sure which version, if any. But the message I got about needing .NET 3.5 didn't seem happy with whatever my PC already has loaded. Should that matter, or won't it work without the download? Thanks...
  6. Hi - I'm new here, so I'm hoping this is being posted in the right place. None of the others looked better... From the top: I just downloaded Paint.Net, having stumbled across the forums and having enjoyed the questions and answers (and some of the sarcasm, too). When I tried to run it, having extracted from the zip download, I got a message that I needed to follow a link to Microsoft and download some framework (mark 3.5, I think) to upgrade what's on my PC. I started to do this, but blanched when I saw it was 194 MB or something! I like messing about with paint and image software, and website design, but I don't know whether I'm okay with downloading something that major just to run a program. Is this usual? My PC's only a couple of years old and I'm connected to the Net via a broadband dongle that claims 7.2 Mbps but never gets anywhere close, so that download would have to be during my next meal! Have others had to go this route, and was everything OK? Where does the framework download need to go? (or does it direct itself?) Sorry about all the questions, but downloading large amounts of data (even from known sources) has been known to freak me out... Thanks for any advice (and any sarcasm).
