  1. Here's another banner I made: 100% Paint.NET
  2. Thank you, doughty, actually the foreground comprises of several 3D renders I edited to match the background. And the man/background is this: http://vishstudio.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=72#/d534yv9 I apologise for posting without voting ;__;
  3. Thank you Helen and barbieq25! A new one. I used a plugin called color aberration. This plugin is very versatile, simple and has a beautiful effect! I can't wait to use it again
  4. Doughty 2 qwertyuu 0 Nice smooth animation there!
  5. I got Paint.NET to work on my desktop computer again so I thought I'd put up a gallery of my photo edits and manipulations! right now I only have one... all photos by me, and that is me. signature banners: photo by vishstudio from deviantART.
  6. Graphic tablets are awesome, Wacom even more so. It's so much better in regular use, as well. I'd say a tablet is better than a mouse in most cases, it's more precise. But. It doesn't work that great with Paint.NET at the moment. PDN doesn't detect pen pressure and it doesn't do a great job interpreting pen movement either. If you do buy a tablet, you should maybe try it with other graphics software...
  7. Thank you Their music is just wonderful. Lungs was an excellent album, Ceremonials as well.
  8. Cool! The spacecraft looks good. http://fav.me/d50gxnj Took all photos myself except for the model. It's a stock photo by vishstudio as is said in the artist description in dA (the link)
  9. That is great! There's a great sense of depth in the image.
  10. It's okay. I like the rough texture, but I think the 'I' in 'CAPTAIN' is hard to see, I thought you had made a typo at first.
  11. I can't make any sense of what's happening right now. Are we going to start another battle? Or shall we wait for the last vote? In the case of the former, I would like to enter with this: http://i982.photobucket.com/albums/ae305/Morphim/sigII_vIV.png
  12. New ones: male stock by vishstudio.deviantart.com red water lily from sxc.hu water droplets sxc.hu c4d from deviantart.com the fourth is my favourite.
  13. Noobz: 2 Balance: 0 Sfifer: 0 TFPrime: 0 Balance's is way too big. Sfifer's is nice but I don't consider it a good sig, same with TFPrime. ---> Noobz gmv
  14. Paint.MIKE/Briamoth 2/0 This is like comparing Picasso's Guernica to Monet's Haystacks. They're both good but really you can't say which is better. However I think that Mike's creation is more of a complete piece, whereas Briamoth's is more like a logo or a banner. That is why I vote for Paint.MIKE.
  15. How clever, I hadn't thought of using 100% Jitter before! Great tutorial, good job.
  16. If you are selecting the area whose colours you are inverting, what you are seeing might be the outline of your selection. Press enter or deselect (ctrl+d) to get rid of it. E: you should post a picture if it happens again.
  17. Chrisco97 - 1 Heat Stroke - 0 Oh wow, this one's difficult. However I think Chrisco97's sig is better because overall it has better depth and lighting, although it is coming from the wrong side. The light source should be at about 45-50 degrees above the render's eye level, slightly behind him as well. Your sig could also manage without a border, though that's just my personal preference. Heat Stroke, like I said in the RTSOTPAY-thread (or it might have been in the pictorium), you could try using a different approach to enhancing the render. The vignette is really rough and I think that a simple 2px Gaussian blur on the left side would have been better. EDIT: Oh, and you both need to work on the text placement and on the text itself. Using blending modes is generally a bad idea. Try to pick a bright colour from somewhere in the sig and use that. Most of the time it will fit the colour scheme. A good tip is to find a bright or a vibrant colour in your sig and place it in a dark or an unsaturated spot close to the focal point.
  18. Camerator, try setting up a thread in Pictorium with all your work in it, that way you can measure your own development as well as get feedback. EDIT: Honestly, I just don't know why I enter in these competitions. >__>
  19. Mayor: 3 SkullSpltter: 1 Mayor's has better quality overall. Only thing I'd change is the text location, I'd move it closer to the render. And so Mayor McSteeze wins. #winner Mayor McSteeze
  20. I prefer the way it is in Smudge. This is running very smoothly, even on my ancient HP Compaq nx6310
  21. Well, the render is slightly pixelated. You can fix this by resizing the render before pasting it to your signature, it works for me. You should work on the background also, it's a little bit empty. Putting the render in the middle is not wrong, but negative space on both sides of a focal point is generally considered unappealing to the eye. There are exceptions, of course, but unless you're really really good and have a perfect vision of what you are making, it's best to start with a focal point placed a little left/right from the centre and a little above. I found a really nice render It's from planetrenders.net. The C4Ds are from deviantART, and the background is a night-time cityscape of Istanbul, photo taken by me.
  22. chrisco: 2 mattz: 0 Chrisco's has better blending and is of higher quality overall. I think the contrast between the render and the background could be better though.
  23. Looking forward to trying out that Liquify! Thanks pyro.
  24. Hooray, thank you! This is really great.
