  1. I would also attempt to center them on the sun a bit better
  2. thirded. I shall never know how you come across such great ideas about combining images and then execute them. 8)
  3. Then I know precisely what I'm going to do. I also already know what I'm going to do for an alternate world theme, when it comes up. Oh yes, random things do pop up in my head. Oh yes, they do.
  4. can it be fairy-tale-like, if not from a specific story?
  5. I really like it, -Expiration-! The one thing you might want to watch out for would be the way the jaguar's ear might be folded if you did manage to get headphones on a jaguar.
  6. try unchecking the visibility boxes for all of the layers you don't want to flatten, and then, as a tip by Madjik from the PDN Tips and Tricks thread states, press control-A, control-shift-F,control-C,control-Z, control-shift-N, control-V and now you have a copy of only the layers you want when flattened. Hope this helps! here is the original tip:
  7. Looks nice! I really like it, the slant, everything!

    Oma's gallery

Looks wonderful, Oma! I love the way you use perspective and light and shadow to make it seem 3D
  9. I like the second one from the bottom in the non-pokemon section.

Have I complemented you on your completed iron man helmet yet? It looks so realistic, the texture on that is truly realistic- I can almost touch it!
  11. I agree with Blooper, more shading would aid in making the petals seem thicker. Have you tried ash's tutorial and Mustang Maverick's tutorial on the subject? They might aid you
  12. I like it, especially the way it looks like there are sections that were woven with different threads, and the overall pattern, as well.
  13. I like the way te windows logo seems to light up its surroundings and the way it's emitting waves. The logo is a bit :AntiAliasingOff: , though
  14. made this a few weeks ago and am thinking about writing a tutorial on it, or at least the tiny bubble texture inside the letters.
  15. You're right. I will go check in the pictorium to see if there is enough interest first. Perhaps if there is enough interest I will just make a tutorial on how to make the small bubbles in the background, which would make for a much smaller tutorial, and it's the only thing in the tutorial not covered by other tutorials.
  16. Thanks for your input I shall proceed to make a tutorial! It's going to take a while, though, there are 64 steps to it.
  17. Should I write a tutorial on how to create this text effect? just wondering.
  18. hmmm... Try making it on a maximum of a 100 px by 100 px image, and make the rounded rectangle start at 1,1 and end at 100,100, and the smaller one start at 5,5, and end at 96,96. I think that will bring you closer to the size of the original image, as well as make the drop shadow and blurs work much better. If the gaussian blur layer does not darken the image enough, also try duplicating the layer. Hope this helps!
  19. Hi and welcome to the forums! If you get confused while reading a tutorial, pressing F1 in Paint.NET will aid you, and just reading through it will help and tell you about things that you may not have known before. The stickied tutorials are well-written tutorials on helpful topics, so I would recommend reading through those first.
  20. hmmmmm.... plugins needed: feather align object drop shadow do a search to find them 1 do a rounded rectangle on a canvas, 2 on a new layer do another, smaller rounded rectangle. 3 align both of them to center. 4 take out the triangles in the larger box, 5 and select it with the magic wand tool 6 go to the top layer and right click on the smaller rectangle 7 create a new layer, and fill the selection with #cccccc 8 do not deselect 9 press ctrl-I 10 fill with #333333 11 deselect 12 gaussian blur the layer, 2 or 3 pixels 13 select the #cccccc color shape, and inver the selection 14 go to the #333333 layer again, and press delete. 15 merge down 16 feather on settings of 1 size, 2 strength 17 duplicate layer 18 run drop shadow on the lower layer, with no offset, a blur radius of 2, and do not preserve the original image. 19 make a new layer below the drop shadow layer, and draw a cream colored rectangle on it, small enough that it can't be seen outside the frame, and large enough that it completely covers the inside of the frame 20 make a new layer below the cream rectangle layer, and fill that completely with #cccccc 21 flatten (ctrl-shift-F) 22 you're done! Hope this helps! edited to add the names of plugins needed
  21. open you image, press control+shift+D, then control+shift+G. Make sure the top (black and white) layer is selected. Then select the eraser tool, and erase the eyes. Does that help? (control+shift+D duplicates the layer you are on, and selects the top layer, while control+shift+G changes the selected layer to black and white. What you are doing with the eraser tool is erasing the black and white layer, but the layer below that has color, and where you erase, the colored layer shows through.)
  22. I use the line tool, actually. This tutorial pretty much is the method I use, even though I have a tablet.

    Oma's gallery

It looks sort of like colorful blown glass, with all of the intricate swirls.
