  1. Boltbait, you are most probably right although I do not remember the image being so large! I think I may have resized it to bring it in line with uploaded forum image sizes. It's no big deal! End of thread I think, I have learned much just from this one, thanks!
  2. Thanks for the confirmation! It makes a lot more sense and I'll do just that (Wiki)! Interesting analogy. BTW: not only will it not sound like the original, the whispered subject matter will not resemble the original even slightly. We did an experiment at school one day (many years ago! LOL) and there were approx 30 students involved and the teacher whispered a short story/message to the first pupil in line who then passed it on orally to the next pupil, etc., etc., and the last pupil uttered some nonsense which described a totally different subject to the original! Who said it was good to talk!?
  3. BoltBait, the image I uploaded was tiny compared to the one in your post which I am replying to now. How did you manage to resize the picture and yet keep the resolution so fine? :o
  4. So how does one use the clone stamp tool threelui? Don't answer that if you don't want, I will delve into the How To or Help sections. Thanks for your input anyway, Peter
  5. Gotcha, yes that is too fantastical to believe let alone process! So I have a Sony 5.1 Mega Pixel camera, use the highest resolution when taking the picture then I could open it up in Paint.net and shrink it. Would that work?
  6. That bloody potato actually fools people?!? lol...You can make nothing out of something, but you can't make something out of nothing... There are algorithms that try to interpolate missing info when upsizing a photo, but I have never seen anything to write home about... Do you think it's bloody potato? It's the worlds most watched programme! I won't take that statement to heart, I often wonder whether what they can do on their CSI PCs is , I still just find it difficult to believe it cannot be done. Can it be done any other way like for example taking a 7 Mega Pixel photo of the object and then playing around with it?
  7. Really? To what are you referring? The resizing (doubtful) or keeping the resolution sharp so that it does not look blurred? I have a lot to learn when it comes to image manipulation programs, however I find it hard to believe that just as you can shrink pictures and keep their sharpness that one cannot do the reverse. This is just a statement and not a challenge, OK! So all that computer wizardry that goes on in CSI Miami, Vegas, etc. is nonsense!?
  8. Hello all, I have an image that is approx. 90 by 90 pixels at 96 pixels per inch. How do I resize it so that the image is at least 360 by 360 pixels but with clear resolution and not blurred? Thanks!
  9. BoltBait, where have I gone wrong when receiving that HTTP Bad Request? Maybe there is a thread explaining how to use all the commands above the "Reply to Post" that I could read? Thanks again! Regards, Peter
  10. Thanks for the instructions BoltBait, also that phrase about sarcasm does not apply to me does it!? :? I also used the lasso tool to outline the unwanted parts of the picture but then I got a chequered layer (?) around the content I had removed. I tried removing this chequered layer but instead deleted the manipulated picture instead! One more thing, how do I sample the background colour with the eye dropper tool? Does it do it automatically? Yes, I have done it myself after following your precise instructions! Thanks ever so much!
  11. Exactly like that! That is perfect - just what I need! So how do I do that? Or upload the picture into my computer? Much obliged and very fast work guys!
  12. Hi all, I'm new to this programme and need someone to guide me through how to remove certain objects from a picture and then to leave the background of the original picture the same colour. Here is the picture, I want the padlock and keys removing altogether and the picture looking more or less square: I hope I have included the correct code above. :? Should I have used http://url instead? Like I said I'm new to this game but please put me right wherever I have ******* up, thanks!
