firstly i have absolutely no idea where to put this thread so i chose the general forum

i think it can be very useful to have an option to choose the default file type for saving
it can save a lot of hassle for people who need to save lots of files that are not .png (the current default)
i could really benefit from this kind of feature since i need to save about 30+ images in JPEG format
im pretty sure (with my basic c# skill) that it will not be difficult to do
or maybe its more fitting as a plugin?
