    Opal Tutorial

Here's my attempt. The opal tutorial is awesome. This is my first attempt at framing an object. I guessed at what minners71 did to get a silver frame around the opal. I went with a dadaist [if i may be so bold hehe] impression but I think the frame misses just a tad in the depth perception. minners71, any chance of getting a tut on making frames?
  2. Very strange: I'm using the latest paint.net (3.5.10), liquify (ver. 1.5) works in its dialog, but won't render to the canvas. After I click ok, the original remains untouched. Pyrochild's other plugins work just fine (stitch, smudge, etc.). Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
  3. Hi! Thanks for replying. That explains it, I appreciate it; I'm a total newbie to photo manipulation.
  4. I'm having a bit of trouble here. I copied the hibiscus flower on the first page to try it out with, so I can compare my outcome with someone who's already done thiers. When I select the flower, I have to copy portions of the flower until I've copied all of it. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I've followed the step by steps in the tutorial, but can't seem to get the whole flower copied to the new layer. Help!
