  2. This SOTW just looked like a lot of fun. I just had to try. I created everything myself. Other then the fonts of course. So no renders or stock used.
  3. No no. He's talking about the majestic cantaloupe like in the song "Home, Home on the range". You know. Where the deer and the cantaloupe roll. Rant: I've been legally blind my whole life but they didn't know it tell I was 3/4 way through the first grade. Now some how I passed the first grade till my parents found out about my eyesight. Then I got held back and redid the first grade again. I was upset for awhile but it really was for the best. :?
  4. I thought this might help keep everybody in their mothers good graces. Choose your appropriate Mothers Day
  5. Happy Birthday David! Hope your day is full of good times.

  7. I've tried that using Apophysis before. It wasn't really on what I would call a spacescape but it was close to one. You can see it here. Apophysis is good to use on such pictures because it renders on an transparent background. You may notice that you can see the stars to the left of the fractal in the sky.
  8. We just got a dusting of snow here and I'm glad. I just got the DSL back on after the ice storm caused our electric to go out for three days. It got a little cold in here. But everything is back on now and we're all warmed back up now. All we have to do now is get rid of all the tree limbs in the yard.

  10. Merry Christmas to all, and (since it's 10:30 pm here) to all a good night. Oh.. And Happy New Year!
  11. I was putting this in the "Gingerbread Man" Comp.
  12. That effect does give a nice look to that stained glass. The way it's shaded it looks like theres more going on behind the glass then just light shining through. I know what you mean about the bits of white. It's just that some of them are a little jagged along the edges. Maybe you could straighten them up a little or better yet, feather them some. What ever you decide, it looks good so far.
  13. I came up with this the first time I rendered something on Terragen 2. You may have all ready seen these tutorials but just in case you haven't. Here and here 2 I didn't understand everything about them but they helped me some.
  14. Isn't Spam and bacon nearly the same thing? I mean bacon is just a little more closer to real pork. Now Spam with cheese!
  15. It's been a bit since I've been on here sooo. This is two Fractal Explorer fractals blended together to make this one. Couldn't have done it without Paint.NET. Critters
  16. It's hard to find a picture of the real BoltBait in a suit. For some reason I found it kind of fun to use "Feather Selection" on your head BoltBait.
  17. ...if you know what I mean. The dog at the house next to us is missing a few links out of his chain.
  18. All this drawing will get/ me to an early tomb./ I just wish/ I could get my/desktop into the bathroom./Paint.Net
  19. I don't get it. From what I remember about how things fly, they depend on the lift from their wings in order to rise into the air. The lift comes from the air that is flowing over the aerodynamically built wings. Now from what I understand the plane is going one way and the treadmill is going the other way at the same speed, so therefore the fuselage would be standing still. Where would the air movement come from to give the air-o-plane the lift that it needs. The only thing that I can think of is that maybe the jet, prop, or that other thing that pyrochild mention along with the action of t
  20. I was referring to the bright colored flowers that he put around it. There was a lot of pop art out at the time that used the flowers and the bright colors that he used. But after writing that, I guess your right. I'm sure that some of the art is still around in pictures and cartoons. ( Scooby Doo comes to mind)
  21. I wonder how many people who wear that symbol are actually aware of its origins...?It's a very nice design, though, LJXD, I'm not speaking ill of it. As far from. I've been waiting all day to post that thanks to the Forum downtime. Nuclear Disarmament... probably not many. Unless you were a freshman in High School in 1970 with a older brother and bunch of older friends to explain it to you. LJXD did a really great job not only on the peace sign but the flowers also. Makes me wonder how old he is.
  22. The original stock for this picture was a prehistoric wall painting from a cave. (In France no less) I got the stock from here: http://uncivilsociety.org/2008/06/cave-comics.html Mastodon's rule! Well at least 20,000 years ago they did.
  23. This is a really good tut Dave. It's just that I can't find in it when we are suppose to save the "mask png" file. I believe it would be at the end of step 4. I'm not in the best of health right now and hope that I just didn't miss it somewhere. If I did, Sorry.
  24. Congratulations to ya for your win Max Power. Those were some really healthy looking flies you had there. In all seriousness, that was a well done piece you entered. Good luck to you in the next contest.
