You should, in almost every case, add a new layer to put your text on. You can also go to layer properties and mess around with a few different options.

The only thing I used was Paint.NET's line tool.
(OK, I did use the circle tool to draw the eyes.)
It takes talent to create anything with just a line tool

Something I made just because I was bored. It was just supposed to be some abstract piece of junk, but it came out looking like a couple of teardrops.
[i started with a black-non filled circle, on a white background.

I save all my work as a .pdn and a .png [.bmp on special occasion]
So that in case I need to add or edit something, I always have a .pdn file so you always knnow how you did everything. You might want to too

And also, to make it a little faster, you can open task manager, go to process, right click Paint.NET, and change the priority level to high

If your downloading just the Dll, right click the downloaded file, and click, open containing folder. The downloaded file should be highlighted, then you can drag it into the Paint.net effects folder. I had trouble with that too when I had o download just a .dll

I got this problem the first few times I tried installing it. Try instaling it a few more times. But before you try that, try repairing it.
