  1. I apologize for the terribly slow response time. I am a doctoral student and the semester kicked into high gear.... I appreciate everyone's responses to my questions!
  2. I am creating a text logo for a web page. I want some type of reflection or maybe a shadow to make it stand off the page a bit... just a polished professional look... nothing fancy.... thanks!!
  3. Thanks for the feedback. At least I know I was not losing my mind...I will check out the tutorials mentioned in the replies...what programs folks around here use for text manipulation?
  4. Newbie question...... I've caught on OK to manipulating images in Paint.net, but are having the hardest time working with text. I want to create a basic text logo for a website using a PSD file. I can insert my text with color, font, size, etc. with no problem. However, I do not understand how to manipulate the text after I type it. I seemingly lose all control over the text once I click off of it. For example, I want to apply an effect of some kind to lift it off the background image so that it doesn't look so flat. Does anyone know of a good "working with text logos in Paint.net" tutorial? I searched the forum but could not find any. Thanks!! Chris
  5. Works like charm! I tried these steps before; however, I created the new file before I cut image out of the original and the size did not auto fill... by creating the new file after I make the cut, it auto-fills the size, and I manually enter 300 DPI... nice! thanks for all the quick responses to my issue. I really appreciate it.
  6. I scanned a bunch photos with several pictures per scan and now to save them as individual photos. They were scanned in at 300 DPI and open in Paint as 300 DPI. For some reason though when I cut a picture out and "Paste to New Image" in Paint the DPI drops automatically to 96 DPI? Is there a way to cut photos out and still retain the original 300 DPI? I can't figure this one out. thanks!!
