  1. Thanks for the feedback, guys I'm slowly lulling myself back into drawing realistic stuff/spacescapes, starting with this Sonic Screwdriver piece. It seems that since I've stopped using PdN, I've lost a lot of motivation and inspiration. I'm trying to think of fun things to draw, but I keep coming up blank. I'm sure I'll come up with something if I just sit in a corner and read a book or something XD I think I have an idea for another project, but it might take a few days for it to materialize. Perhaps I'll just update my gallery with some pieces that I forgot to upload way back when. I'll post again when I start my next project
  2. ....(Peeks around the corner) Hello everyone! It's been well over year since I've been active on the forums, so to briefly introduce myself to any new members since then: My name is Worldnewser, and I like making Space/Realistic art in Paint.NET. For people who remember me from way back when: Hi! It's been awhile! I don't want to make a short update notice longer than it is, so if you want to see why I've been gone for so long, I wrote a journal on my deviantART page. Long story short, I'm back, and I'll be pumping out work somewhat regularly. And I will try to become active in the forums like I once was, although with college in front of me there's no real guarantee. (It's amazing; I joined in November 2007 and have yet to break 1000 posts XD) ______________________________________________________________________________________ Anyways, update time: My new piece of work since I returned on Paint.NET. The Tenth Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver! It's been such a long time since I've touched Paint.NET, so I'm a little rusty. However, I think I've still got it. Comments and constructive criticism appreciated (If you don't know what Doctor Who is, wiki it. It's a great show and I highly recommend it )
  3. @heavymetalcat--Welcome to PdN! Nice effort. Much better than my first submission (which was an ugly puke green abstract). A bit of anti-aliasing is in order, but it's a good concept. You'll definitely get better as you go along. @Mayor McSteeze--Wonderful. I like them both. I'm also interested by the texture of the planet. Did you make two textures and blend them together? Because it looks Moon-ish and then sorta looks Earth-ish closer to the shadow area. I also like the light source you have peeking out of the upper-left hand side of the planet as well as the stars (everyone seems to be making great starscapes lately). The planet/atmosphere needs a bit of anti-aliasing, and the atmosphere looks shifted a bit off as it approaches the dark side. Other than that, nice work
  4. @Possum Roadkill--oh hello, I didn't see that there. Thanks for the tip @Falken--Brilliant piece! I like the starscape. I think the only thing I can reccomend is to tone down the clud layer on the planet. I think it's a bit too thick. Other than that, good work. Also, I like your sig
  5. It has been such a long time since I've seen the Pictorium. It'll take much too long for me to catch up on the 50 or so pages I've missed, but from the past few pages, I see a lot of outer space work. As a guy who once regularly updated a "universal gallery", how can I resist commenting? Nice work guys! I see a lot of potential in new people I haven't seen since the last time I was active. @Welshyblue--Keep it away from me! Nice knife man. I like the texture on the handle. ____________________________ Trying to catch up with work I've made in the past year and a half: The final version of my Galaxy which was started as a WIP in my gallery seven months ago. More to come. I may or may not continue updating my gallery, depending on how active I might become on the forums. For now, I guess I'll just be submitting my works to Image Umbrellas only. Wow. Much longer having to type out the code for url and img instead of pushing a convenient button
  6. It's a tad small flip. The texture looks like it's something good, but it's too small for me to tell IMO. It would also have been interesting to see a little more of the texture, since more than half of the planet is covered in darkness, but that's okay. Atmospheric effects are rather good too. _______________ Hi guys. Long time no see. No, I'm not quite active yet. I'm just taking a short break to check things out. But fear not, I'll probably become more active by Christmas In the meanwhile, just thought I'd pop in and submit a piece of art I did while getting my mind off homework. It just so happens to be a planet Actually, I planned on waiting until Christmas to update my gallery and show off the stuff I've been doing in the meanwhile, but seeing Flip's pic made me want to post. I'll probably show off my new stuff later though. For now, this will just be a little preview. Comments are appreciated.
  7. @angel_sara533--thanks for mentioning it. I thought it was just in the realistic section, but it seems my hyperlinking has gone awry. I'll get right to fixing it @HELEN--Yeah, it's really hard for me to find time to work with PdN with college looking and schoolwork to do, but playing around with PdN is one of the best ways to calm myself down and be creative @Goonfella--I was originally planning to add something to it, but I decided against it. I would just be recycling planets from the Medusa Cascade anyway, because coming up with new ones would just make me create another WIP Although a spacescene with my newly formed galaxies..now there's an idea worth thinking about

  12. @Welshblue+Sokagirl--thanks I will actually finish these WIPs up, unlike that sink I still have yet to touch Ok, so I'm back from my one week homework binge. Still have to do some study binging too, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there In the meanwhile, here's my (somewhat slow) progression with the WIPs: You've really gotta click on them to see the fine detail  The starfield was redesigned because I didn't really like the first one. The other galaxy...is just that. Another galaxy that I hadn't intended to make but did so anyway. I'll incorporate bits and pieces of this galaxy into the final product. But the final product will still retain the general form of the original WIP. Read more about the pieces on the artists comments on each page. I'll definitely finish before this week ends. Maybe I'll finish before school starts Enjoy. Comment and criticize, I appreciate it
