  1. could render a grid on one layer, and have the picture on another layer...then magic wand the grid, and delete that portion from the picture layer
  2. check out "Local Contrast Enhancement" or "Shadow / Highlight Recovery"
  3. yes. Use your selection tools, and paste each section onto a new layer on your main image, that way you can maneuver each layer around by itself. Press F1 while using Paint.NET and you will access the help file where you can learn about all the selection tools.
  4. try the conditional hue/saturation plugin...can be found using search... then set the color parameters, and use the hue slider to change it to red

  12. Hey Fearless, what's the name of the font you used for this one? Reminds me of the old car logo writing
  13. bitmap (.bmp) certainly doesn't support transparency PNG 32-bit, Targa (.tga), and GIF all support transparency. So does Jpeg2000 (j2k) but Paint.NET doesn't support it.
  14. you can install Ed Harvey's plugins, and inside should be the Extract Channels plugin you could use
  15. did you even attempt a search for the word "glitter"? many such examples posted if one would look
  16. sounds like you're doing the lines on the picture itself, when you need to be doing the lines on a separate layer
  17. First, you should read the rules, so you'd understand what rules you need brushing up on... Then, I searched with your phrase "lost my layers window" http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/search.php?keywords=lost+my+layers+window&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search And it sure looks like it's been asked a bunch before
  18. like ShK_828 said, the photoshop plugin you downloaded needs to be placed into the Paint.NET/FileTypes folder...then after restarting Paint.NET, you can open the psd file to view the separate layers
  19. Download the Robin Woods template (PSD version is the best) and you can use it on Paint.NET by using the Photoshop plugin available from the plugin section. Use the templates to create your selections and use the photoflood/fill plugin (to fill in with a fabric of your choice...this plugin is also available in the plugin section) on other layers to create your texture. Main thing is to get the Photoshop plugin installed so you can view the template on it's separate layers first, then experiment. After you're happy with all the layers, merge the appropriate layers down and upload...only the portion defined by the avatar mesh shows on the texture.
  20. lol want a little cheese with that whine? it's a simple idea...don't hear me complaining about it...I posted an example like this 5 months before this tutorial was written
  21. Using search, in the plugins forum, I got the following result: Click here
  22. Since Simon skipped over this question, I'll answer. What you are referring to is called aliasing/anti-aliasing. When the lighter edges appear around the brush marks, it's because they are anti-aliased. If you notice, it should have :AntiAliasingOn: at the top of the screen. If you click that, it should go to :AntiAliasingOff: which would fill in the entire area you brush with solid color
  23. it can be found under Noise>Median instead of under Blurs subsection

    Clouds

You should perhaps try out the Clouds plugin, not the clouds effect from render>clouds...I've always preferred it for genuine looking clouds
