  1. Write a FileType plugin. There isn't much documentation, but the ORA attempt thread should provide a rough outline of how to do this.
  2. It does. It currently doesn't work that well, for example the TinyPic method is currently broken without an account (at least for me) and I don't have time to keep up with changes to the sites' APIs. While it isn't compatible with all site and browser combinations, DragFrom solves the same problem. It being moved into the legacy pack wouldn't guarantee it's abandoned forever, just reflect the state it's currently in and mean that people just wanting to install some plugins don't download something that doesn't work.
  3. I'm considering moving this to the legacy pack. Does anyone have any objections?
  4. No. Right-click on the zip file -> Open With -> Windows Explorer. If that doesn't work, try 7-Zip.
  5. If your version of Windows is recent enough to run Paint.NET, it can open ZIP files without any other software. Alternatively, you could use 7-zip.
  6. When you make a selection and use the move selected pixels tool to move it with the arrow keys, the history window gets polluted with lots of "move pixels" items. If you hold-down the left mouse button while moving it this doesn't happen.
  7. Works for me when I use a Chrome profile without Adblock Plus.
  8. I'm assuming they mean "lacks some of the more recent features of Photoshop."
  9. You could try ThatOtherApp, which will load the edited image back into Paint.NET when you've finished. It will only bring the current layer over, though. Or you could just copy & paste it over.
  10. It doesn't support any site I'd call a social network.
  11. You can hide the tools window and just use the "tool" dropdown in the toolbar or the tool's shortcut key (listed in the tooltips for the tools in tools window).
  12. Run this utility and see if it has any suggestions. If it doesn't, post a screenshot of your effects folder.
  13. Alternatively, you can use URL encoding: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/Tools%57indow.html http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/Main%57indow.html http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/Colors%57indow.html http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/History%57indow.html
  14. Before they acquired Reflector, the original author put the time bomb in to force people to always use the latest version. http://www.zdnet.com/blog/burnette/red-gate-we-could-not-make-the-free-model-work-for-us-as-a-commercial-company/2176
  15. JetBrains are adding a similar feature to ReSharper and creating a free tool. I'm not sure what they mean by "to explore whatever .NET compiled code is legal to explore," though. 30th May
  16. No, but there's an online tool that can convert normal images (e.g. PNG) to PDF. I'm not sure why you'd want to do this, though.
  17. You could save the photos as JPEGs with the lowest quality that looks good.
  18. At least for IndirectUI plugins, Paint.NET controls the dialog position. Not saying it would be easy for Rick to implement, of course.
  19. Secure Download If you get a warning, try the unencrypted download. (Tools menu) This plugin lets you upload images using drag and drop. Requires a capable browser such as Firefox and site such as Imgur or min.us. If you have Chrome, you can just drag the image onto any upload field. Note that only the current layer is uploaded.
