  1. Did this with the Alpha Mask. I could probably remake the Disgaea logo. It uses the same font, Dark Crystal.
  2. Yay! I got it! Thanks Ash. I'll try and find a way to do it with the Alpha Mask as well. Thanks for your help.
  3. Well I made the text, added the gradient, didn't work. Added the transparent gradient, that didn't do much other than shade it. switched the mods, switched the layers about, not much change. Maybe I'll try alpha masking it, never got round to putting it to the test
  4. I'm trying to make myself a sig on a forum, and I want gradient text in it, and when I select the text, and execute the gradient, and it negates the alpha values, making it an un-anti-aliased jagged text. Basically, I'm looking for a way to change the color of the text while leaving the alpha values untouched, any ideas? And yes I used the search, if I missed the post that details it, post the link please. Also, some of the text has internal parts that need coloured, which is why the anti-alias plugin would just cause some nasty issues.
  5. I'm one step closer to my planned masterpiece, Queen of Anarchy and Queens of Storm.
  6. http://quenlin.deviantart.com/art/Zodia ... e-69063919 I kinda went a little crazy.
  7. Most PDN tutorials are used for creating effects that simply cannot be done with freehand and polygonal tools. But then again, there are several tutorials on Deviant Art that teach this thing, theres countless anime/manga tutorials, so take your pick. Tutorial search. Not to mention that there are also a handful of How to Draw Manga books floating about, go to Borders or Hastings and ask for them. Edit: Just saw Tamaki Kousaka in your sig, I just <3 her, red hair is so hot!
  8. Kinda basic stuff this, but who cares? Always put a line of text on its own layer, makes it easier to edit out and fix until PDN gets better text handling. When compressing a file with the jpg format, always compare your setting to 100, not 99, not 95, not 90, 100. so you can see the exact different between 70q and 100q. Always learn to use more "advanced" options such as twist and rotate, alpha masking and curves. Some are ridiculously easy to learn. Its better to move an image with the mouse, rather than the arrow keys, if you move that image 150 times, then decide to undo the whole thing, you'll have 150 steps of moving to wait through. Know a plugins limits, some like Gentree and other graphic generators can easily crash your computer if you put the settings too high. Always make a picture larger than you need it, its easier to resize 500 to 350 than to size 250 to 350. Experiment with generators, gradients and layer options. You'll always get something nice.
  9. Damn! Thats a nice effect, makes me want to watch Fullmetal Alchemist again. When I actually try to start my RPG Maker XP project, I'll definitely use this for one of the later boss battles.
  10. http://quenlin.deviantart.com/art/Styx-68501642 Tried to recreate the background in Pyrochilds sig, dunno what I did wrong, but my moneys on getting the Gradient Bars the wrong way round. I'm re-doing it as we speak Edit: I'm getting there... http://quenlin.deviantart.com/art/Styx-redone-68580834
  11. Paint.net isn't all that great for adding text to an image, your better off using GIMP for that. They're planning to add in something like that, but theres no info as to when that will be done.
  12. http://fc02.deviantart.com/fs21/f/2007/ ... uenlin.jpg You could also use this to make one of those "atoms" you see in cartoons like Futurama and Dexter. Just a plain globe with two thin rings and maybe a few electrons on the ring.
  13. This will help tremendously for my sigs and avatars, thanks.
  14. Brilliant, that and your sig gives me a brilliant idea for a Deviation, I'll be sure to credit you if I make it.
