  1. My brother supports Arsenal FC. I personally don't like them that much but they're ok! Anyway, on Christmas Day or was it Boxing day, I decided to make an Arsenal FC Wallpaper for my brother - he deserved it! So here it is: The only stock image I used was the Arsenal logo itself, everything else was made using Paint.NET!
  2. Man, that is good! But now BoltBait, I WANT you to colour it. Remember, gradients are the best option in replicating vector images so good luck! I tried adding a few wrinkles but they looked weird and made the entire image look bad so I removed them!
  3. In the tutorial section of the forum, there is a really old tut on how to make images look vectorised without using a vector graphics application such as Inkscape. I decided to so it with a picture of Gordon Brown (UK's Prime minister as of now) Original: Vectorising tutorial: (By the way, if you want the tut, look near the end of the tut section eg. pages 14, 15, 16, 17) ___________________ EDIT: Here's the link if you're interested: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3192
  4. It represents the Major.Minor.Build.Revision So the major is to represent how many times the program has been updated critically, like with the UI in 3.x, and the new structure work for 4.x. The minor is updated for new updates or new features, like 3.2x having the IndirectUI system, and the 3.22 version having the Reduce Noise plug-in. As for the build and revision, they don't really matter, and are generated by the computer. The only thing you should really worry about is the Major and Minor. I learnt that one night on the dA chat from Rick If you want some more info, check here and here. Thanks for that! So that explains the random number mystery (well I suppose it isn't a mystery now is it!)
  5. I too had suffered installation problems. Whilst updating, it was at the stage where it was removing the previous version (3.20), and that was were it froze. Using Task Manager, I stopped it. Next, I downloaded the .exe for 3.22 beta and installed it and now works fine! PS: I see you've got a "cute" little icon for the reduce noise plugin! PPS: Sorry, if i'm going completely off topic, but what do the numbers mean on the title bar when you open PDN. For example, this 3.22 beta release is Paint.NET 3.22 (Beta Release Build 3.22.2918.2902.) Bassicaly, what do the numbers after the Beta Release Build mean?
  6. Rick has a cat! Now that's something I certainly didn't know until now! (I'm not being sarcastic!)
  7. Nice one, good rain effect especially with those penguins!
  8. Your plugins are cool! I never knew you had this many plugins! It's a good thing my plugin census is updated!
  9. Whilst I was browsing the Paint.NET wikibook, I stumbled upon an incomplete sig tutorial by CMD. As you can see, it's a good sig made by CMD. So by looking at the sig he made, I made a similar version myself - CMD's version looks better becuase he chose better colours and so on. However, you've gotta admit, the remake by me below is (fairly) good! 8) Give me your comments on how good a remake this is compared to the original version by CMD.
  10. I too think there should be a full screen feature.
  11. It's not superb, but it was a good attempt, I present you the Barbers! Everything was made by me although I used Google Image Search for 2 pictures . I'm sure you can spot the two pictures!
  12. Great, not only is Paint.NET an image editing programme, it's also "Anti Shutdown Software"! (I need a better name for it.) 8) This feature is very useful, especially for me.
  13. It's hardly a bug, but I've noticed something: If you look, it is Plugin Error window. The wiord if is wrriten strangley. Never happened before so why now (so i guess it's just some sort of mistake) Anyway, this release is good! I'm 11 and I have a younger brother who is nearly 2. Whenever he comes near the computer he presses the ON button (therefore if I'm using it, and he presses it, it would shut down.) What I noticed was that when this happened (I was running Paint.NET), it didn't shutdown. Every other programme quit itself however paint.net said "do i wish to save this" and somehow this prevented my shutdown. 1 week later, the samething happened, all other programmes exited and PDN remained. Weird - something in your code must be causing this (maybe)!
  14. AAAAARGH!!!! Damn it! The "Update Paint.NET" feature doesn't work. It just seems to be frozen. Although, if i click cancel it does cancel. Oh and by the way, that screen shot is after 5 minutes of waiting. Oh well, I'll update it manually. Oh and by the way Rick, you didn't answer my question aabout why do GIFS paste on to PDN strangely. Try pasting the PDN logo at the top of the forums and you'll see what I mean hopefully. Loving your hard work. Shame I've got so many plugins (look what's happened to my effects menu): Oh well, I'll survive!
  15. Is it me or when I copy and paste a GIF image on to Paint.NET, it pastes itself strange. For example, if i copy the PDN logo at the top of the forums, when i paste it, it turns white parts of the image black.
  16. Here's my next GIF animation: (It works when your browser is fully loaded as always!) Sound waves Be quiet! Everything you say is being recorded!!
  17. Thanks for the suggestions. Maybe Rick should advertise Paint.NET - not many people know about it. Wouldn't it be nice if all those who knew Photoshop knew about Paint.NET as well.
  18. Look what I created, an animated GIF advert of Paint.NET. It's fairly simple but cool and effective in my opinion. What do you think?
  19. It's fairly good, depending on the settings you put. Although it may not be used all the time, it's now in plugin toolbox. As you can see from sig, I've got tons! Damn! Must update my sig (plugin census).
  20. Cheers! Take your time with it, I'd rather have a long wait for a bug - free plug-in than the other way round.
  21. Thanks to MadJik for the "Seamless Texture" plug-in and Ash for giving me the link to it!
  22. Thanks for the link, works like a treat. It's a shame the plug-in only does a vertical mirror line. Would appreciate if it included a horizontal mirror function
  23. On a programme called Dazzle (kind of like MS Paint but better yet no not as good as PDN), there is a symmetrical function. Basically, if you select it, a grid appears on your page. It's either a 1 line grid or a 2 line grid Example 1: A grid like this on Dazzle would mean whatever I draw on one side is reflected and drawn symmetrical on the other side. Example 2: On Dazzle, you can then change to a different grid like the one above. Whatever I draw in one square gets repeated symmetrically in all the other boxes. I was wondering if anyone had a good idea on how you could do this on PDN or make a plug-in which makes like a mirror so your drawing is symmetrically reflected on to the other side of your canvas.
  24. Ash, you may have to wait, I'm looking through all the pages in the tut section to find it. Please bear in mind, I am a school kid bombarded with homework because I attend a selective school!
  25. That's what my Ink Sketch plugin does. And, since it is built-in to Paint.NET, you already have what you're looking for. It does a good job but it still looks a bit .. . (pencilish)
