  1. This plugin has been superseded by Cellmaker Rev(isited) by zoonel, release date: Dec 06, 2009 you can find it here: Cellmaker Rev This plugin is very similar to the Gridmaker plugin. It simply makes a grid of cells within a given selection. There are three corner options, hard, soft (corner pixels are removed) and rounded (three of the corner pixels are removed for a rounded look). [edit] Thanks to a number of suggestions from Madjik the code has been sped up considerably, hence the new numbering: CellMaker 3.3 replaces all previous versions. Note: The function of the plugin has not altered between versions, only the rendering speed. CellMaker is now found under the RENDER submenu (Ash's request). It works like this: Note: if you really want this plugin, you can find it in my plugin pack http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/110145-eers-plugin-pack/
  2. I've been playing with Codelab a little lately, thanks BoltBait for all your hard work on it. As my eyes get weaker I find it harder to read text on the screen. So, would it be possible to setup some default settings for codelab with maybe a codelab.ini file? // Codelab.ini // 0,0,799,599 // Window coordinates: top left to bottom right (so I can resize and the new size will persist on reopening). 16 // Font size in pixels #00FF00 // Comments color I don't want a fully featured word processor, just a little tweak to make the font/opening window a bit larger. [edit additonal] If an *.ini file is not going to happen, my other wish is for a couple more tools on the toolbar?
  3. Why run two equations based on odd/even canvas size? Why not run the same code on both with the rider that the odd sized canvas will be perfect and the even sized canvas will have a 1 pixel column (or row) unused at the right edge (or bottom edge)? (I haven't tried your code so I'm only guessing to the effect you're after.)
  4. Absolutely agree! Life would be complete with a resizeable gaussian blur tool / paintbrush.
  5. Didn't the Rolling stones say "time is on our side"? Well it wasn't! Hence the rushed pic with altogether too much blurring around the base. As usual: No stock images were harmed in the production of this image 100% PDN
  6. Sorry, just clarifying: this thread is for discussion and the other is still for posting? [edit] Got it figured from your last post in the original thread.
  7. Nice :!: If you wanted some variation across the whole block you could use a cloud layer as per my original post. With the extra layer you can introduce some darker and lighter areas depending on the roughness and scale of the clouds:
  8. Here's another nice and simple texture: brushed concrete. 1. New Image 2. Effects>>Render>>Clouds:Scale 150, Roughness 0.72 3. Effects>>Stylize>>Edge Detect @ 45 degrees 4. Adjustments>>Invert Colors
  9. Try this quick and easy stone texture (brushed concrete - like my sig): New image Render>>clouds:Scale 150, roughness 0.72 Edge detect Invert colors (I'm doing this from memory, so apologies if it is not quite right. I'll pm you if I've missed something).
  10. You should probably ask this question again in a new thread as it doesn't relate to the original title. Before you do, have you tried search? http://www.getpaint.net/search.html
  11. This is way too close to my day job. I'd be forced to sit this one out (actually that might improve the overall quality of the entries). But don't let me spoil the fun - maybe I could be a special guest judge?
  12. Looks frozen, like a cornice from deepest Antarctica. Intentional?
  13. How about a runcible spoon? "A runcible spoon is a utensil suitable for runciation. This of course is in contrast to an irruncible spoon, which one runciates at one's peril."
  14. Perhaps this should be brought to Ash's attention as he is the author of the tutorial rules. It makes sense to have the instructions searchable does it not?
  15. This image is astonishing! Every time I see it it looks more realistic. One small matter: Wouldn't shiny baubles on a glass surface roll into one corner?
  16. Stone 101 a community tutorial for stone textures. This is tutorial is a place for sharing stone texturing techniques. Post only replies that offer a genuine variation of the technique or an alternative to it. Please post an image of the finished texture before any description of the changed/new technique (I've used an image size of 200x150px for simple textures). Index of textures (click the sample texture to go directly to the tutorial): [source ?] [Source ?] [Source ?]
  17. I've been playing with stone textures. How am I doing? Realistic?
  18. By way of explanation, the latin translates to "I've been thinking". Thus I thought it appropriate for the phrase to appear to be coming (out) of grey matter. No borders, no drop shadows, no extra effects, I guess that's about a minimal as I can get! [edit] I know it's hard to believe, but no stock images were harmed in the making of this offering.
  19. I think it's about time I shared in this forum, so here goes..., The background was based on Jezulkim's excellent starfield tutorial:Subject: Creating a starfield. With colour.. You can get some really nice globular clusters happening with the right settings.
  20. Isn't there a problem with *.GIF not supporting partial transparencies? (Or am I thinking about *.JPG?) I came across this problem when overlaying an image with a partially transparent drop shadow over a given (website) background. One of these file formats didn't want to play nicely....,
  21. Totally, completely awesome! Ladies and gentlemen, we are in the presence of greatness!
  22. PDN n+1! What is the expected size increase for the download of 3.2 vs. 3.1?
  23. Excellent link! Thanks Guys. Looking at the images on Wikipedia, I think the sinewave plugin might also prove to be very useful. According to Wiki the biggest hurdle to cracking these images is the segmentation (splitting the image into individual characters). I'll try some close text spacing and horisontal + vertical distortion and see what I come up with.
  24. Can anyone shed some light on the subject of user validation images? (Like the ones you need to type in the symbols and characters that appear in the distorted image in order to validate your web request). Are they as simple as throwing some distorted/rotated characters onto a background? Are there any tutorials on the subject? (couldn't find any). A plugin would be great! How would you build such an image?
