  1. The plugin author hasn't been on the forum for over two years. I doubt that the plugin is still being developed. The incompatibility issue and the unavailability of this plugin is (to me) a compelling reason to simply lock this thread and move on. We have been stating for some time that older versions of paint.net will not be supported. It seems reasonable to extend this to plugins that are incompatible with the latest version.
  2. ^ quite correct. Delete them ALL then scan your system thoroughly for viruses. Paint.net's built in effects are not provided as separate files so you cannot erase them. They are part of the application. Good luck with the virus scan!
  3. That depends on the quality of your antivirus software. Do you trust it to do a good job? Dotnetsocial appears to be owned by Microsoft and while frightening many users, it appears safe http://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/dotnetsocial.cloudapp.net I suspect that the Google issue was simply timing. They are playing with password-less security right now.
  4. Interesting set of suggestions! These cannot be rearranged. Interesting idea. Myself I use the keyboard shortcuts and almost never select a tool from the dropdown list. Again, there is no way currently to set this. A checkbox in Settings > User Interface could do the job. I have asked previously if the default colors could be shade #1 and #2 of the currently loaded palette. As you can change palette, this would give the facility of also setting the default colors. I can't remember Rick's answer - or find the thread right now.
  5. If the background is a flat black or white then I recommend AlphaSpace
  6. It looks like Simon's Legacy Pack is no longer available as a single download. I did find one or two of the legacy plugins still available for download. Note that Texture was flagged as "depreciated". This means it was unlikely to receive further updates & may have ceased working with later versions of paint.net 4.
  7. Post your problem in the ClipDisplace thread (Here: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/32416-clipdisplace-smoothing-update-31122015/).That way we keep all the discussion of that plugin in one place.
  8. Never mind. Just do without it I'm kidding with you beau. Welcome to the forum Here's a link to the very simple solution to your missing window http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/31884-restoring-lost-windows/
  9. Go to the first post & click the link TextWindow.zip near the bottom of the post. Unzip it and copy the DLL file into paint.net/Effects/ then restart paint.net. Detailed info http://boltbait.com/pdn/InstallingEffects.php
  10. This might provide the answer... http://www.proz.com/forum/office_applications/34573-excel_turning_comma_into_decimal_point_2000_2000.html
  11. Thanks to @ReMake this tutorial has been restored as a PDF.
  12. Aha! You need this little plugin: XY Coords (Yes it does work with pdn4) Edit: beaten by Red
  13. You can't move the rulers - they're fixed where 0,0 is the top left of the image. If you use the magic wand tool to select the inside of the cell, the Status Bar will show the top left pixel and the size of the selection. If you zoom in on the selection (View > Zoom to selection) and have the rulers enabled, the blue highlighting in the ruler shows the selection dimensions.
  14. Next round of documentation updates have been uploaded to the website. Among the changes you'll find.... 1. Logo top left links to documentation homepage. 2. Links in the body text have been underlined for clarity. 3. Window icons (text adornment) have a new look - rounded corners and recolored title bar. 4. Effects & Adjustments: tips on using dialog controls reworded. 5. Line/Curve + rotation reworded. 6. Heading styles changed for consistency between pages 7. Paint Bucket - typo corrected & tip moved. 8. New Soften Portrait image (NiteNurse79 - thank you!) 9. Swedish language added where appropriate 10. typo on Working with Layers (layer name) fixed. 11. Docs now reference .NET 4.6 12. PgUp, PgDn, Home & End buttons functions added. 13.ToolBar page + rasterization image 14. Move Tools - rewritten 15. Colors Window - numbered reference image & text on palettes. 16. Text references to checkboxes have had unicode symbol added. 17. Corrected Image>Canvas size: uses Secondary color not transparent. 18. Clone Stamp - rewritten with new images to help explain clone opacity and the relationship between source point and destination.
  15. BoltBait has written a very comprehensive guide to installing plugins: http://boltbait.com/pdn/InstallingEffects.php
  16. The short version: If the files are zipped, manually unzip them. Copy the unzipped dll files into /paint.net/Effects/ and restart paint.net.
  17. I'm way ahead of you. I've flagged a rewrite of the Clone Stamp page
  18. Clone stamp help: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/CloneStamp.html The Clone Stamp inherits the transparency setting of the Primary* color. So if you want to have a lower opacity to the stamp, lower the opacity of the Primary color in the expanded Colors Window. The Clone stamp source point moves along with the destination. They are 'locked' once you start cloning. If you want the same source point you really need to be copying & pasting + the Move Tool * Assuming you're using the left mouse button. If you're using the right mouse button - Clone Stamp will inherit the opacity of the Secondary color.
  19. Another possibly is that you've inadvertently installed something else. Try downloading from the link on this page http://getpaint.net/download.html
  20. Welcome to the forum Josh Appreciate your effort here, but this doesn't constitute a tutorial. I'm not really sure what you're trying to achieve by duplicating layers then merging them again. Is there a step missing? <moved to paint.net discussion & Questions>
  21. DLL attached to the first post. Alternatively - there is this implementation by @BoltBait Floyd-Steinberg Dithering
  22. Have a read of this technique http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/19817-water-mark-programme/page__view__findpost__p__334009 If youre doing something differnt, can you walk me through the creation process? What steps are you using?
  23. Hi UXB - welcome to the forum If you are using transparency you need to save you image in a format which supports it. Choose PNG not JPG and you should be fine.
