Gradients galore! Another update 22/4/2016
Ego Eram Reputo replied to Red ochre's topic in Plugins - Publishing ONLY!
These look spectacular Red! Can't wait to play with this... Thanks! -
Tried this filetype RGB565 Android format? Oh. It looks like you did. Changing the file extension is not the same as converting the image to a different format

It's winter down here. Snow is forecast this weekend. Snow is my favorite weather phenomenon so I'm happy.

Don't know if it will help, but you could try disabling your anti-virus before you attempt to install. Remember to enable it again afterwards
-
Don't worry about it Max. It's not your subject or theme, there is a general downturn in comp entries lately.

Sounds like you need to remove some legacy bits of the prior installation. Go here http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/692-install-update-or-uninstall-trouble-read-this/ and read up on the Windows Installer CleanUp utility (post #2).

Paint.net is crashing
Ego Eram Reputo replied to EpicPixelness's topic in Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
It says you're out of memory. You've got 3893 MB (4Gb) installed - that should be enough. What other applications do you have running? What size is the image and how many layers does it have? -
Question about the Curve/Line tool
Ego Eram Reputo replied to RBXLElias's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
1. Draw your line on it's own on a transparent layer. 2. Duplicate the layer :DuplicateLayer: 3. Move one layer a pixel or two sideways with the Move tool (hint: use the arrow keys for precise movements). -
Resize JPEGs to standard print sizes
Ego Eram Reputo replied to gogreen1's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Do the math 4x6 @ 300 DPI = 1200x1800 pixels. 5x7 @ 300 DPI = 1500x2100 pixels 8x10 @ 300 DPi = ? In case you didn't find the resize function - press Ctrl + R or find it in the Image menu (Image > Resize) -
You're trying to install a very old version of paint.net. Download the latest from here http://www.dotpdn.com/downloads/pdn.html

Photoelasticity effect
Ego Eram Reputo replied to SvSlazer18's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I hope this is what you're after 1. Open an image (Black and White seemed to work nicely) 2. Duplicate the layer 3. On the top layer Set the Blend mode to Negation. 4. Run Self Negation (http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/25083-color-self-negation-now-v11/) with these settings 5. Apply a 2px Gaussian Blur to the top layer. 6. Flatten and save. I'm sure there are other techniques. Metalize and Bizaro-Negation plugins might be worth a look. -
Deep Dream type plugin
Ego Eram Reputo replied to skullbonz's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
It also seems to use multiple layers to reinterpret many images. Plugins only have access to a single layer (and the clipboard). -
Question about the Curve/Line tool

The only way to do this is with a custom brush. Consider a brush like this -
How do I remove elements from an image?
Ego Eram Reputo replied to saintman's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Saintman had two users point to the forum rules because of the way he/she was posting. When that type of posting persists and the OP can't even be bothered to read replies users are taking the time to supply, I'm not surprised people are getting a little testy. Saintman has even started a new thread. In capitals. My reply is terse http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/32012-how-do-i-add-an-element-beard-head-covering-christian-project-show-how-to-draw/ -
Translation System.AccessViolationException : Attempted to read or write protected memory . Typically, this is an indication that other memory is corrupt . ( PaintDotNet.Canvas.CanvasControl ) Can you give us a step-by-step guide to how this error occurs? In other words, what are you doing with paint.net when the error is thrown?

How do I remove elements from an image?
Ego Eram Reputo replied to saintman's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Posting like that is just being obnoxious saintman. To find the color in an image, use the Color Picker tool. The keyboard shortcut to activate this tool is K. -
@Racerx - pschroeter want to crop to the smallest bounding rectangle which contains all of the black elements. Plugins cannot crop an image. So that option is out. Following the method you use above, how about adding a new layer (Ctrl+Shift+N), move it below the B & W layer. Select all of it (Ctrl+A) and fill it with the default Secondary color (Shift + Backspace). Flatten and save.

Forum Rule #23 strictly forbids asking forum users to do work for you. We are happy to help you edit this image yourself. -

Rules were made to be broken I am hatching an evil plan to use HTML5 in a browser window to present my talk. Basically an interactive webpage. Muwahahahahaha! -
Thanks Red & Seerose! 1.5 million page views - I might put that on my CV
